A new title screen for Hyper Street Fighter II.

Hyper SFII has a tweaked intro. The scenes with Chun-Li, Cammy and Akuma were taken out, instead you get to see each logo from each version of Street Fighter II appear and vanish repeatedly as Ryu throws a hadouken. The music during the intro is now the same as what was used in Super Street Fighter II.

Fei Long's country flag at the character select screen was updated in Hyper SFII, as Hong Kong had been passed over from Britain to China in 1997.

"SUPER" was replaced with "HYPER" at the VS screen.

Hyper Street Fighter II puts the posts in Ryu's stage back in the game. The only other game to use these was The World Warrior.

The barrel in Ken's stage was replaced with two barrels and some boxes in Hyper Street Fighter II. These objects were originally from The World Warrior version of his stage.

Another sprite from The World Warrior was put back into Honda's stage in Hyper Street Fighter II.

Other Changes

-The music at the character select screen is now what was used in Super Street Fighter II.

-A new default high score name is used in Hyper Street Fighter II -"ONI".

-Akuma now uses Balrog's K.O. scream rather than Ryu's.

-The way Akuma kills Bison is slightly different in Hyper Street Fighter II. Bison's music can be heard before Akuma kills him, and Bison now does his animation where he throws away his cape before Akuma gets him.

-Hyper Street Fighter II introduces a new glitch with the music, when fighting Akuma. If the match gets to round 3, Bison's theme starts playing instead of Akuma's. When round 3 is getting close to ending, Akuma's danger music will start.

-In Bison's stage, there are some statues you can break on either side of the screen. If you did this in Super Turbo, a couple of guys in the background would get up and start waving their arms in anger. They no longer do this in Hyper Street Fighter II.

-The music for the credits sequence featuring characters fighting each other is now from Super Street Fighter II: The Tournament Battle. It uses the tournament champion theme.
