Street Fighter III 3rd Strike OE (Xbox 360)
I was really looking forward to this, but playing it on day one wasn't that good. The ranked match doesn't work right, options and control settings don't save and there are other glitches and bugs. The fact that had to patch it just tow days after release says it all, and even then, it just fixed the Youtube upload feature...the saving grace is the online tournament mode, which has been great. It lets up to 8 players go into tournament, with quarter finals, semi finals and the final. I've been playing this mode a lot as it is so difficult getting into a ranked game, and I personally prefer it to the player match mode. Won some, lost some, found a new infinite combo, good times. My mains online are Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Alex and Sean. Single player wise I've beaten the arcade mode a few times and done around half the trial challenge mode.
Quake Arena Arcade (Xbox 360)
I just love how the main mode of this game -online play -doesn't work at all. I think I've managed to play a total of two or three games online, because when I usually try, I just get a message stating that the connection test failed. I'm not the only one to have had this problem, and the game has been out for nearly a year, but nothing has been done to fix it. Other than Microsoft dropping the price from the already high 1,200 points to 800 points. Pathetic.
So I've just been playing through the single player mode, and beaten about half of it on four stars difficulty. I also hate how there are no split screen multi-player options at all -if the Dreamcast and PS2 versions of Quake III had that, surely the 360 could deal with it?
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (Xbox 360)
I cleared all the character trails in trial mode! The ones I found the hardest were for Ibuki and C. Viper, as they each had one which involved a combo with a super jump cancel in it. They are very tough, basically, and there is no hope in hell I would ever be able to do them in a real match, against a human or CPU opponent. But at least I have them all cleared now.
Time Crisis II (PS2)
I haven't played any of these games in a while, so I started out with this one. I beat it on one credit on either my second or third attempt, only taking one hit in the last stage. If I remember right, I always found this one to be the easiest one, so I'll have to check out the others I have at some point. Out of interest, I went to my local cinema's arcade and found that they still had the Time Crisis 3 machine I've mentioned on these pages before there, only it was broken. And the Aliens Extermination game was busted also.
Star Fox (SNES)
I played through and beat the first path without being shot down. You can see my flying skills in action here , highlights include forgetting how the warp in the second level works and the most abysmal start to the Meteor level you will ever see. I will have to try the other two paths some time.
Ryuuko no Ken 2 (SNES)
I beat the game with Robert, and, unlike last time I played it, I got to the the hidden fight against Geese Howard. I also finally figured out how to do Ryo and Robert's desperation move (I was hitting the wrong button before).
Stellar Assault (32X)
Beaten on easy mode. It was an OK game by 32X standards, but there are several problems. The main problem I had was with the graphics. Star Fox had a large variety of colorful backgrounds, and whilst some levels were set in space, a few were on actual planets. In this, you only fight in space, so the background in always black with a few square to represent stars. Enemy fighters never pose much of a threat, and there really isn't much variety in the methods you use to destroy the bigger enemy ships, aside from the last two. I was surprised at how short it was -there are only 6 levels, this must have been rushed out when released. Out of the two space shooters I've played this month, Star Fox was the better one.
