Streets of Rage 2 (Xbox 360)

I started to work towards the 800,000 points achievement this game has. I started using Axel, and got up to stage 4, but then I wondered if it might be easier using Max. I got to stage 4 with him but my score was actually lower than what is was with Axel. So I started another new game, this time using Blaze. I'm up to the bosses of stage 7 with her and all I have to do is beat them to get the achievement, my score is something like 750,000 or around that. Blaze breaks the mould for female scrolling beat 'em up characters, as not only is she fast, but she has some powerful moves to match, especially her throws.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)

Restarted this on my new account. I wimped out and selected the easiest difficulty, because I'm not up for trying to beat it on veteran yet anyway. The last level I beat was that one where you have to enter the prison and find Captain Price, I think I'm more than halfway through the game.

The online multi-player for this game is hilariously bad, though. There are far too many killstreak rewards, and there is little skill involved in playing -I love how throwing grenades in random directions can often get you a kill, plus the akimbo shotguns are stupid. I tried playing in one of the larger team games, where there were around 8 players per side, and people were calling in air strikes and helicopter gunships what felt like every 10 seconds, there was way too much going on. I like the single player mode, but the multi-player sucks.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Xbox 360)

I played games of this on my old Rage Quitter 87 account, mainly because there was a free Xbox Live weekend late on in the month. One thing I tried out was the larger screen mode, which completely fills the screen and makes the sprite larger. I didn't think it made much of a difference, but I'll keep it that way as it just makes my Youtube videos look better. Bad games to the following rage quitters: Liquid Plissken, Saelka, WidowedGorgon07, WidowedGorgon07 (again) and Fly2daSky88. Good games to everyone else, especially prestonb86 who completely trounced me and then sent a really nice message, which I couldn't even reply to because if you don't pay for Xbox Live, you can't send messages. Sorry buddy.

Street Fighter II Movie (Saturn)

I beat the game via a Saturn emulator, which let me view two of the endings thanks to savestate abuse. The main game isn't very interesting, but the fight at the end is OK. I only played through this to write up a brief page about the game here anyway.

Galaxy Fight (Neo Geo)

Thanks to Codiekitty for telling me about this game. I had heard of it before, but this was the first time I ever played it. And I thought that I might be OK at it given how many other fighting games I've played, but after getting my ass kicked by the first guy, that thought went out of the window. The A.I. in this game is hard, probably just under Art of Fighting 2 hard, and will happily tear you apart -it is very good at countering anything you try and do. I did manage to beat the game with Roomi and Rolf eventually, but only after using plenty of continues, the last boss is the usual SNK cheapness master. Regarding the actual gameplay, it seemed quite basic, especially something from 1995. There are no super combo moves and only three attack buttons, and the collision detection seemed off in places. I did like some elements of it though, such as the stages not having walls, the dash function. Then there was the WTF factor, such as getting to fight a punching bag which spits hadoukens at you, Roomi's ending, Musafar's head falling off if he loses via time over, and what the hell is Kazuma's problem? I can see myself owning the actual cartridge for this at some point, and I'll have to check out the pseudo-sequel Waku Waku 7 some time.
