The tower stage is practically unplayable in the prototype -due to glitched collision detection, you can fall through the platform you start on if you head left, and you can't jump on the smaller platform above it -you just pass through it. The screenshots from this point on use a patched version of the rom which fixes the collusion detection. One visible difference is that in the prototype, the clouds in the background do not scroll, whilst in the final version, they do. |

The final version moved these two enemies further to the left. The bat flies down from the ceiling in the prototype, whilst in the final, it flies in from the left side of the screen. The positioning of the candles is also different, as are some of the graphics at the top of the stage. |

The graphics for the Gargoyle boss are corrupt in the prototype. There are some graphical glitches with the tower as well -the windows are part of the edges are colored yellow instead of black. The floor is also glitched in the prototype, you'll fall through it and die immediately. Use the patched rom to play it. However, be careful when you beat this boss -if you don't collect the orb when it drops, it falls through the floor, even with the patched rom! Failing to collect it will make the level impossible to complete. |
