The icon of the shrine is different in the prototype. |

As with the previous stage, the mermen have different sprites in the prototype. |

The waterfall animation is different in the prototype, and the background has lighter colors when compared to the final version. The spheres that move around that platforms are animated differently in the prototype. |

In the prototype, this boss doesn't get his own life bar, so you can't tell how close you are to defeating him. He's much weaker in the prototype, only taking 3 hits to defeat (2 if your weapon is fully powered up). In the final version he's stronger, and gets his own life bar. When you hit this boss in the proto, he doesn't flash red like he does in the final. The boss music doesn't play from this point in the prototype, but does in the final. |

The prototype is missing some crow enemies here. |
Prototype |
Final |
Again, this boss does not get a life bar in the prototype. The sprite for the spiky ball was touched up for the final version. |
Prototype |
Final |
The final version made the death of this boss much more explosive. He also shrinks down before he dies, something which doesn't happen in the prototype. When he takes damage a sound is played in the final version, this doesn't happen in the prototype. |
Prototype |
Final |
This boss enters from the right in the prototype, and the left in the final. The differences with the previous boss (no life bar, no shrinking, less explosions, no damage sound) apply to this one too. |

Final |
This section is much hard to complete in the prototype, because the collision detection for the two platforms on the far right of the screen is glitchy -trying to jump on them will have you often have you fall through them. Getting completely submerged by the water means instant death in the prototype, in the final you'll take damage instead. |
Prototype |
Final |
In the prototype, the clouds in the background aren't animated at all. In the final version, the clouds scroll left, and their graphics were re-drawn. There's some other minor differences with the skyline in the background. |

The statue's head was moved down slightly in the final version, partially revealing the candle hidden behind it. |
Prototype |
Final |
In the prototype, you can't stand on the statue's head, but you can in the final. |
Prototype |

The bone dragon's colors are glitched in the prototype. This happens with any bone dragons that appear in this stage. |
Prototype |
Final |
Part of the above platform has an invisible hole in it in the prototype, which was fixed up for the final version. You cannot progress any further into this stage in the prototype due to this glitch. The screenshots below use the patched version of the prototype. |

This bone dragon was removed from the final game. |

The prototype's stage 2-6 is wildly different to what the final game has. The layout is different, the colors are different and the background has complete walls. The final version changed a lot of things, including getting rid of most of the walls, revealing a sunken ship in the background. The prototype also only has 2 enemies in this room, whilst in the final, there are 3. |
Prototype |
The prototype has an additional room here, which was cut from the final game. It is still listed as being part of stage 2-6. |
Prototype |
Final |
When the boss fight starts, the boss can be fully seen at first in the prototype, whilst he can't be in the final. |
Prototype |
Final |
The background colors are different here, the proto's blue was replaced with the final's red. The smaller pillars in the background also have different colors, and the sprites for the blocks between them were redrawn for the final game. The boss doesn't have a working life bar in the prototype. |
Prototype |
Final |
The prototype boss has some differences, as his weak spot doesn't get more and more exposed as he takes damage. Upon defeat he'll cover his eye and sink into the ground. In the final version, his eye will shatter once he's been defeated, then he sinks. In the final version, the boss will also raise one of his arms up when he sinks. This doesn't happen in the prototype. |
NOTES
-Defeat the armor bosses, but instead of going to the next stage, walk back to the start of the current stage. Then start moving right, and eventually, you'll have to fight the armor bosses again. If they use their jumping attacks, it'll even create a clone of themselves! You can do this over and over.
