SAMURAI SHODOWN

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

CARTRIDGE

NOTES

-The manual uses the game's Japanese title, Samurai Spirits, several times.

-Page 10 claims that "sometimes money flies out of your opponents pockets". This is referring to being able to split your opponent in half, which was possible in the arcade/MVS version, but was something that was famously removed from this English AES version.

-On page 15, Haohmaru's name oddly uses a hyphen and adds an extra space: "Ha-oh Maru". It's never spelt this way in the game, and isn't spelt like that on page 14 either.

-In the Japanese version's manual, one of Galford's moves has the wrong input. The English manual fixed this to show the correct input:

Japanese
English

However, this came at a price, as one of Hanzo's moves now has the wrong input in the English manual, whilst it was correct in the Japanese one.

-In the Japanese manual, page 29 features Kuroko interviewing Haohmaru, Ukyo and Jubei. For the English manual, this interview was removed, and replaced with art of Haohmaru. If you want to read an English translation of the interview, click here.
