-The screenshots on the back cover and in the manual are from what must have been a slightly earlier build of the game:

The difference is that during two player matches, the screenshots display scores above the life bars. However in the final game, scores aren't displayed. Instead, the text states how many wins a player has, of if a player is a challenger. In the above example, Benimaru's surname is almost fully typed out (although the o is missing), whilst in the final game, it got shortened.

-Some of the character's names are spelt differently in the manual than they are in the game. Billy "Cane" instead of "Kane", "Jeidern" instead of "Heidern" and "Shii kensu" (consistently with a lower case k) instead of "Sie Kensou".
