Geese's surname is misspelt "Howerd", but this was corrected for the final game. The early screen also shows a 2 player versus fight happening on the fire version of Geese's stage, which I don't think is possible in the final game, you can only get by reaching Geese in single player.

-Lord BBH pointed out that the controls on page 10 are wrong. The manual states the A, B and C buttons are for weak, moderate and hard attacks respectively, whilst D is for taunt. In the actual game, A and C are for light and strong punches, and B and D are for light and strong kicks. It's possible that the manual's control pad diagram was mistakenly copied and pasted from Galaxy Fight, which features a control scheme like that.
