In the Spirit Realm, Koenma is busy stamping papers when Botan comes in. She says she's going to go down to the Human Realm.

Koenma tells her to go on ahead, so she leaves. Koenma then says just a minute -is this all the screen time he's getting?! Botan flies off.

The show's first intro sequence then plays.

Koenma then recalls how Yusuke Urameshi, a 14 year old hyper-delinquent, died in a traffic accident in place of a child. He thinks that, back then, who ever would have predicted his strange destiny? To put it in a nutshell, Yusuke is a simpleton who doesn't think before he acts -a fool whose body engages before his brain does!

Shuichi Minamino, whose true identity is the fox demon, Kurama. He can turn any plant into a weapon, and will become merciless against anyone who means him harm. Whilst living in the Human Realm, he developed feelings of affection towards his adopted mother, and his encounter with Yusuke and company changes him. Then there's Hiei, the evil eye master who has a third eye in his forehead. Born in a land of ice, he uses flame techniques. The heart of the callous, ambivalent fellow also changes through his battles. Kazuma Kuwabara... never mind about him.

Kuwabara asks what was that! He says that as the cherry blossom among flowers, so is his grit among men! He fights for love, justice and Yukina! His hobbies include looking after cats, and his motto is to do a good deed daily! Koenma says that, in any event, he is glad to have met them.

The show's first ending sequence then plays.

Keiko visits Yusuke at his ramen stand. She orders some food, and tells him it looks like he's making an honest living. Yusuke giver her her order, and asks how it is. Keiko says she hates to admit it, but says it's good. Yusuke says he won't reveal what the secret ingredient is. Keiko realizes this is the first time she's ever had any of his cooking. Yusuke tells her if she likes this sort of thing, he'll make it for her every day.

He then tells her she look flushed, and asks her if she's alright. Keiko say it's nothing, so Yusuke asks her if she's free tomorrow -Botan was here earlier, and wanted everyone to get together at Genkai's place. Kuwabara and Yukina then arrive and also get some food. Kuwabara is surprised Urameshi is so talented at cooking -he could take over the Yukimura Diner at this rate. Keiko asks him why's he saying something like that...

The show's second ending sequence then plays.

Yusuke picks up the picture. Keiko says that Genkai is a spirited as ever, as Yusuke recalls their last meeting with her. Genkai says that about a year has passed since the Spirit Realm brought down the barrier. Kurama thinks that it looks like the realms are slowly warming up to each other, but Genkai says that no matter how sunny their coexistence may be promoted as being, some friction is bound to come up. The demons may be discriminated against just for being who they are. When that happens, someone will have to stick up for them.

Kuwabara says to leave that to him -he's the man who'll defend Yukina, even at the cost of his own life! He assures Yukina that he'll take care of her. Back in the present, the rest of the group go to where Keiko and Yusuke are. Keiko asks where Yukina is, and Shizuru says she's still taking to Genkai. Botan then notices the photo Yusuke has, and brings out a box full of pictures. Most of them are from the Dark Tournament, and Yusuke says that feels like it was so long ago now. Kurama says there were all sort of guys there, and Botan says Kuwabara had a real strong showing at it.

Kuwabara tells her to go on, whilst Yusuke wonders how Chu, Jin and the others are doing. Kurama says they're all fired up, ready for the next tournament. Yusuke says he can't wait to fight against them again!

The show's third ending sequence then plays.

We then see the Demon Realm, as Botan explains that she tried to contact Hiei through Enki, but he said he's not with Mukuro right now. She thinks Hiei must be doing some secret training, in preparation for the next Demon Realm Unification Tournament.

Botan finds a picture of Hiei, showing him sleeping after fighting Sensui in the Demon Realm. Kurama asks Yusuke what's up, and Yusuke says he was just thinking that if he'd met Toguro and Sensui in the Demon Realm to begin with, maybe their fights would have taken some other form.

The show's second intro sequence then plays.

Yukina finishes talking to Genkai, and leaves her temple. She sees Hiei outside, who tells her he couldn't find her brother -he's probably already dead. He wants to giver her her stone back, but she tells him to hang onto it.

She says she has a feeling it'd be better if he kept it. As she walks on, Genkai tells Hiei that Yukina is not as much of a child as he thinks she is.

The show's fourth ending sequence then plays.

Yukina tells the others she's sorry to have kept them waiting, but Kuwabara is fine with it. He says that for her, he'd wait 100 years. Shizuru says they've still got plenty of time left, and suggests they stop off somewhere on the way back. Botan says that should go to the beach of memories. Kuwabara wonders what that is, and Kurama says the name of the beach again. Kuwabara then understands.

Yusuke doesn't know what they mean, so everyone explains that the beach was the place where he and Keiko had their first kiss! Yusuke says it was actually their second kiss...

The show's fifth ending sequence then plays.

Keiko says it's nice that they could all come here again, which Botan agrees with. Yukina says that the sea is so pretty, almost like a dream.

Kuwabara says that for him, it's an even bigger dream to have her here. Hiei then appears and says that it looks like Kuwabara still hasn't gotten any smarter. Kuwabara wonders when he got here, as he thought he was mellowing out at Mukuro's place. He thinks maybe he had a lover's spat with her, prompting Hiei to threaten to kill him. Botan says it has been a long time since she heard Kuwabara and Hiei's repartee. Kuwabara asks her who is the straight man and who's the funny man -she has to make that clear!

Sometime later, the second Demon Realm Unification Tournament is about to start. Koto asks who will come away the winner this time -could contestant Urameshi fight back and vindicate his honor? Hiei tells Kuwabara that he should go home now, whilst he's still alive.

Kuwabara says the even if his mortal frame falls before the whirlwind... Kurama finishes his sentence by saying he'll trust in the immortality of the soul, and move forward. Kuwabara says that's the way a real man lives! Koto announces that the preliminary matches shall now start, so Yusuke says here they go!
