Synopsis
Eizou Hakusho refers to two videos that were originally released in Japan in 1993, whilst the TV series was still airing. They mainly focus on the Dark Tournament, showing clips from several fight scenes and some other sequences, whilst also having a couple of completely new scenes that were created specifically for the videos:
Eizou Hakusho: Scenes from the Dark Tournament - Volume 1
Original release date: September 21st, 1994
The first video contains clips of the matches the Urameshi team had to fight before the finals, and features clips for each of the five team members. There's also some new artwork featuring many characters from the series, and then finally a new scene where Koto tries to interview the team before they go to the finals.
Eizou Hakusho: Scenes from the Dark Tournament - Volume 2
Original release date: October 5th, 1994
The second video contains clips of Genkai's battle with Toguro, the Dark Tournament's final round, and its aftermath. There is then a new scene showing how the picture seen at the end of the TV show's second ending sequence was taken.
Yu Yu Hakusho Opening & Ending Encyclopedia
Original release date: October 20th, 1995
This video contains most of the show's introduction and ending sequences, and also features several new short scenes set after the first Demon Realm Unification Tournament. It ends with the main characters preparing to fight in the next tournament.
Eizou Hakusho II
Released between December 1995 and February 1996, these four videos focus on each of the four main characters, and contain some new animations, clips from the TV series and parts of "Mu Mu Hakusho", where Yusuke keeps having strange dreams:
-Some of the new sequences in the Opening & Ending Encyclopedia reference events in the manga which the TV series didn't adapt, such as Yusuke having a ramen stand, and the fate of Mukuro's "father".
-In the Encyclopedia, during the scene where Keiko visit Yusuke at his ramen stand, Yusuke briefly looks at "The Cult" magazine, which has Ruka, Koto and Juri on the front cover.
