Yusuke and Chu's life or death struggle via the knife edge death match brutally continued on, as it drew the gaze of everyone inside the stadium. Neither of them took one step back, as they put out all the power of their bodies. And then, with his headbutt ace card, Yusuke handily managed to gain victory. The Urameshi team has broken its way through the first round.

Clash!
The Best 8 are Decided

Tournament 2nd Day

Outside the hotel, Yusuke tries to uses his spirit gun, but he can't concentrate his spirit energy, and he doesn't know why. Kuwabara then finds him, who is unaware about Yusuke's problem. Yusuke asks what he has come here for.

Kuwabara thinks they should be evaluating the first round, or hold a meeting about what will be coming up. Yusuke finds the evaluation idea amusing, and walks off. He tells Kuwabara to let him be alone. Kuwabara thinks once this tournament is over, he'll pound him up and down.

Yusuke doesn't realize that the masked fighter has been watching. Nearby, Hiei draws his sword, but his right arm is still in great pain.

At the stadium, the next match has started, and is almost over already. A demon has his head sliced off, and the victor, M3, holds it up to the audience.

Koto comments that this is amazing, as once again, the match has been decided in an instant. As she announces that the victory goes to the Dr. Ichigaki team, Kurama has been watching. M3 returns to his team, and says nothing. Ichigaki laughs and tells M3 well done.

Dr. Ichigaki team

With the match over, one of the remaining demons on the losing teams is just glad things are finished, as there was no way he could win against those guys. However, his bigger, bulkier minotaur teammate kicks him out of the way. The minotaur doesn't want it to end like this. Koto politely explains that the contest has been decided, but he tells her to shut up.

He says the captain's match still hasn't been settled, and lumbers forward onto the ring. He says he won't rest until he's killed them, and charges forward. Ichigaki calls him an idiot, as his life had been spared. The minotaur goes to strike...

...but M1 and M3 leap into action. M1 uses a technique called angel chakram, which has energy rings surround his arms. He uses them to slice one of the minotaur's arms off. M3 uses a technique called hound claw, which he uses to tear apart the minotaur's remaining arm.

M2 then uses a technique called swing crush, which blows off the Minotaur's head. Ichigaki thinks the minotaur was really insignificant, and next time, he hopes they'll get to fight against a team with a little more fortitude in them. He's looking forward to facing the Urameshi team.

Kurama has been watching, and thinks it's unmistakable: M1, M2 and M3 are being controlled by spirit energy! He finds it hard to believe that outside of Yusuke and the other guests, there would be humans here. He thinks the humans fighting for Ichigaki may not be doing so under their own will. Over at Koenma's VIP box, Jorge comes back with the snacks he'd been ordered to get, but Koenma angrily explains that the match is already over. Koenma asks why he got so much, but Jorge points out Koenma was the one who told him to get it. Koenma tells him to shut up, and as punishment, he'll have to pay for all of this.

Elsewhere, Yusuke is training, trying to use one finger to life his entire body up. But he still can't concentrate his spirit energy, and has to stop. He then senses something in the forest, and has to jump back. A second later, a projectile shatters the rock he was on.

Yusuke lands in a tree, and a voice calls out to him. The voice asks if he is training for his next match, and Yusuke asks who's there. A demon walks out, and says he's one of the Makai Kyosenshi (Demon Realm Crazed Warrior Team).

Rugby

Rugby says he saw Yusuke's match yesterday, and wants to have a contest now to see what's stronger: his demon ball, or Yusuke's spirit gun? He summons a demon ball, whilst Yusuke takes aim with his spirit gun... but he can't do it!

Rugby kicks his projectile at Yusuke, and Yusuke has to jump off over to another tree. The demon ball shatters the branch he had been on, but then starts to follow him.

Rugby says the demon ball can sense the slightest spiritual energy of its opponent. No matter where Yusuke goes, it'll chase him forever. He tells Urameshi to fire his spirit gun, not realizing he can't. Yusuke continues to jump around, but eventually the demon ball hits a branch he's hanging from, causing him to drop.

However the demon ball then gets destroyed when someone throws an axe through it. It explodes, as the owner of the axe appears in a tree. The demon asks what Rugby is here for.

Topaz

Topaz says the time of the matches approaches, and tells him to go to the stadium immediately. However Rugby wants to take care of Yusuke now, as he's one of the strongest opponents. He thinks everyone after that will be easy to beat, and summons another demon ball. Topaz forbids him from doing this, but Rugby tells him to shut up. He walks forward and tells Yusuke to prepare himself.

However before he can do anything, he falls over dead, with an axe in his back. Topaz has killed him, and calls him a miserable fool. He tells Yusuke that he'll defeat him in the arena, in front of the spectators. Until then, he can't get himself killed by some trivial punk. He then walks off, just as Kuwabara reveals himself. He thinks Topaz is amazing for being able to kill his own friend so calmly.

He then asks Urameshi why he didn't fire his spirit gun, and Yusuke reveals why: he can't! The two head back to the hotel, to discuss it. Yusuke says that sometimes, if he shoots the spirit gun four times in a day, his shots are less powerful the next day. But this is the first time he hasn't been able to concentrate his spirit energy into the tip of his finger. The masked fighter then appears and speaks for the first time, revealing that she's a woman. She tells Yusuke this happened because he used the rapid volley, which is advanced technique. For someone like him, who has been using spirit energy for less than half a year, it's not a technique he should use.

Kuwabara is confused -who is this masked fighter? It's clearly not Genkai, but Yusuke says that's who he thought he'd come with. Even Yusuke has to ask who she is, but she just tells him to stop using his spirit gun for a while. If he tries straining himself any more, he'll end up like someone else who can't use his arm. As she walks off, the two wonder who she could mean. Outside, Hiei's arm is still in pain.

In their hotel room, Botan wants to know why Keiko won't see to Yusuke. Keiko says she doesn't want to be in the way. Botan says she isn't in the way, she's helping him, not dragging him down. Keiko says that if she saw him now, she'd ask him to stop. When she saw him earlier during his fight with Chu, he looked happier. She wants to watch him a little longer. Shizuru then comes over and tells Keiko what she wants to do is commendable, and tosses her and Botan some drinks.

Botan toasts to the Urameshi team winning it all, and they drink up -although Keiko is drinking juice. Meanwhile, at the stadium, Koto announces to the crowd that the fourth match is about to start. So far, seven teams have survived the first round. The next match will decide on the eighth team to go through.

Up in the Black Black Club box, Sakyo watches as Toguro walks out. He thinks that the more spectacular the ceremony is, the move lively things become. Toguro walks out, but is on his own. Koto says the Toguro team were the winners of the last tournament. In the crowd, the masked fighter, Yusuke and Kuwabara are watching.

Toguro picks out Yusuke and stares at him for a few seconds. Yusuke stares back, but Toguro then walks on. Koto says that the Toguro team will be battling the Demon Realm Crazed Warrior team.

MAKAI KYOSENSHI

(Demon Realm Crazed Warrior Team)

Dosukoi

Gorilla, Babaki, Gagaki

Kuwabara says this team consists of nothing but enormous guys. The Demon Realm Crazed Warrior team unleash an incredible amount of spirit energy, which goes all around the stadium. Yusuke asks what kind of energy this is, just as Botan surprises them and pops up to say how unusual this team is.

Toguro walks forward and requests that, if possible, he'd like to fight this match alone. Babaki asks what he means, and Toguro explains the rest of his team have some bothersome things to attend to. Dosukoi asks if this is some kind of joke, and Gagaki asks if he really wants to fight them five to one.

Toguro is fine with that. Gorilla says Toguro shouldn't get so full of himself just because he won once. Dosukoi asks again if he really wants to fight this way, but Toguro tells them they sure are long-winded. Dosukoi says they'll tear him apart.

Koto asks Toguro if he's sure this is ok, and he says it is. He tells her it'll be rough on her too, so she runs off, just as the Demon Realm Crazed Warrior team surround him. Koto says to start the fight.

Dosukoi does a couple of stomps, that cause quakes in the ground around the ring. Kuwabara wonders if even Toguro could withstand the power of a kick like that. Kurama is also watching elsewhere, and says it's not just power in that kick -there's a tremendous amount of demon energy included as well.

In recognition of their bravery, Toguro announces that he'll do them the honor of fighting them with 45% of his power. He powers up, as Dosukoi charges forward. Before Dosukoi can land a hit, Toguro hits him once, with so much force that it blows hole through his chest, and out his back.

He falls over dead, as Gagaki goes on the attack. Toguro kills him with one punch, just as Gorilla and Babaki attack. They are just as useless, and are killed when Toguro hits them once each.

Only Topaz is left standing, but he isn't unnerved at what's just happened. Instead, he emits more demon energy, and Kuwabara thinks it's as much as what he and his whole team put out earlier together.

Topaz goes on the attack, swinging his axe wildly. Toguro dodges almost all of the strikes, but he eventually gets hit by one. However, the axe fails to cause his body any damage.

Toguro pulls out the axe with one hand, and says today is a bad day to be a large guy. He punches Topaz so hard that he gets split in half.

Koto declares Toguro the winner, and says his team will be the eighth to proceed. Toguro looks at Yusuke again and smiles, before walking off the ring.

Sakyo thinks the team Toguro fought were too weak. Kuwabara thinks there's too much difference between their powers right now, and asks if they can make it as far as how strong Toguro has become. All Yusuke can do is look at his shaking hands.

Yusuke and the others return to the hotel, where they are given the schedule for the next fights. Things are heavily against them -to win the tournament, they'll have to win four more fights, whilst for the Toguro team to win, they only need to win two more fights. Koenma also sees that his team have the most amount of fights to win.

Before they can become the champions of the Dark Tournament, Yusuke and the others must survive four more contests. However, Yusuke can't use his spirit gun. Further, Hiei has injured his right arm. Will Yusuke and the others be able to win against their next opponents, the Dr. Ichigaki team?
