It's the Dark Tournament. In the middle round, Hiei faced the Six Wandering Specters team's third challenger, the fire user Zeru! He defeated him with a single blast of the black dragon wave from his wicked king immolation technique! The next one to come forward was the nonsensical drunkard Chu. At the other end, the Urameshi team captain Yusuke finally awoke. The battle between both team captains is about to begin!

The Drunken Warrior!
Chu's Drunken Fist

The audience want Chu to win, and yell for him to kill Urameshi. Koto comments on the crowd's support for Chu, and it's almost as if her own voice is being drowned out. She thinks that Chu's eyes have changed from the drunken appearance they had earlier, and now he has a sharp gaze. Botan thinks Chu is now no ordinary guy.

Chu tells Yusuke he hasn't seen such a serious gaze like his in a long time. Shizuru tells Keiko that it looks like Yusuke is going to have his hands full. It's just her intuition, but somehow, she has a bad feeling about this. In his VIP box, Koenma says Yusuke became a pupil of Master Genkai, and asked for training from her a second time. He would have been taught more secret techniques based on the spirit wave.

He then notices Jorge eating potluck and decides to take it for himself. Back on the ring, Koto tells them to start the fight. Chu immediately starts showing off his demon energy, and asks Yusuke if he can keep up with his movements. Chu then starts to rapidly move around the ring, leaving afterimages as he zips around.

Kuwabara says he's fast, and Hiei says the way Chu moves will make him hard to pin down. Chu moves around Yusuke, as Rinku says Chu has finally gotten down to business.

Koto comments that she can no longer see where Chu is. Yusuke seems to just about be able to follow him, but thinks he makes such swift movements. Chu strikes at him, but he manages to block it...

...but he doesn't manage to block the next attacks. As he crashes to the ground, Koto says she was unable to see what happened. So to find out what went on, she has Chu's movements replayed on the scoreboard.

The replay shows that during Chu's first hit, he actually hit Yusuke five times in total -aren't Chu's techniques fast! Kuwabara thinks Chu is so quick that he didn't give Urameshi any time to fight back.

However Yusuke surprises Chu by jumping back up. He tells Chu the fight is just starting, and goes on the offensive. He does lots pf punches, but Chu keeps dodging each one at the last moment. Chu strikes back, but Yusuke parries the punch, and the next one.

But Chu gets him with the third attack. He lands a few more punches on him, but Yusuke bounces back and goes on the offensive again. He throws out more punches, which Chu avoids, but he then finally manages to land a hit.

Chu is knocked down, but gets up and moves right next to Yusuke. He kicks him off the ring, and Yusuke is sent crashing into a stand.

Koto says that was a ferocious attack, which left no time for her to get any words in. Kuwabara sees that Urameshi has hit the stone wall so hard he put a hole in it -Chu's kick was 10,000 times harder than Rinku's! Chu suddenly feels the effects of his booze.

He sits down and asks Koto to come over. He takes her mic and yells that he can do better than this! Koto pulls out her spare mic again and says she can explain. What Chu means is, as stated earlier, the drunken fist technique become stronger the more the user drinks. It means Chu is saying that at this current level of intoxication, he hasn't yet unleashed even half of his power!

Chu tells her that's right! In another VIP box, Gondawara tells Sakyo if he's now seen the abilities of his Six Wandering Specters team. This first round is as good as won! Back on the ring, Chu tells Koto that they're hitting it off pretty good, which she agrees with. But then someone from the crowd yells out, asking what happened to the count?

Koto gets up and starts the count. Kuwabara worries Urameshi has no power left, as he took that attack full on. Chu asks his opponent what's wrong -doesn't he want to see his reserve technique? Is he really finished, before they have finished warming up?

Before Koto finishes the count, Yusuke leaps back up and lands in the ring. He says that was a close one, as if he hadn't guarded that kick, it would have killed him. Kuwabara tells Kurama that Yusuke must have managed to guard it with his arm, which is good as he had him worried.

Keiko cheers Yusuke on. Yusuke says a moment's lapse would result in death, yet this fight is so incredibly fun. He says it must be the same for Chu as well, and Chu says it is. Koto calls for the match to continue.

Yusuke readies his spirit gun and fires it, but deliberately aims at the arena's ceiling. He explains that his spirit gun is his specialty.

He goes on to say that at his current limit, he can fire four shots a day, so now he has three left. Its force increases the higher his spirit energy goes. Koto says now Urameshi is announcing his technique, this sportsmanship is leading both fighters to be ridiculously honest, and doubts it has ever happened since this tournament first began. Chu laughs it up and says Yusuke really is an idiot.

However the effects of the drinks he's had catches up with him, and he's nearly sick. He pulls himself together and says now is as good a time as any. He'd promised he'd show his reserve technique, and puts a hand behind his back. Botan asks what kind of technique it is, and Kuwabara tells her whatever it is, it much be quite the move if Chu is attaching so much importance to it.

Chun pulls out a flask, and says it contains oni goroshi (ogre killer), the strongest sake there is in the Demon Realm. Koto says Chu has pulled out what would appear to be some type of powerful alcohol, and then Chu starts drinking it all.

The drink starts to effect Chu, and he begins to emit demon energy. Koenma wonders if it's some kind of drink which will boost Chu's vitality, and Jorge doesn't know what it is. Koto says that the entire stadium is being enveloped in Chu's colossal spirit energy.

Chu says nothing, but is looking very serious. Koto says everyone is holding their breath as they watch what Chu will do next -just what is his secret technique? Things seem to return to normal, and Chu starts to run... away from the ring, so he can go and throw up!

Rinku says that if Chu doesn't do this at least once, he can't raise his version of the technique up. Koenma thinks Chu really is a moron, and says he's going to be mad if nothing happens. As Koto helps Chu out...

...Rinku tells Yusuke that being completely wasted is Chu's true form! Chu getting deeply drunk, along with using the drunken fist, is his ritual for calling his true self up in the Human Realm. Some time a go, Rinku was getting beaten up by a gang of demons, who told him to stay put in the Human Realm. Rinku wanted to take them on, but they smacked him around.

A drunken Chu then appeared and told them that's enough. He said there's nothing decent about this place, where the alcohol is so disgusting, and asked Rinku about saying goodbye to this dismal place. He picked up a barrel of booze and drank it, just as the demon gang started to attack him. But the booze started to take effect...

...and the demon gang were promptly slaughtered. Back in the present, Rinku tells Yusuke there's no way he can win against Chu now. Chu thanks Koto for helping him, and thinks she'll make a someone a good bride one day.

Chu gets up and said that hit the spot. His color changes, as Kurama says that Chu's demon energy is merging with the energy from the ogre killer. Koto comments that they may now see the deepest secrets of the drunken fist technique.

Chu says he'll now face Yusuke with his greatest techniques. He begins to concentrate his demon energy into a projectile. Kuwabara wonders what it is, and Hiei says Chu's mysterious demon energy heightens the blend of his spectral power and liquor.

Kuwabara thinks the energy ball Chu has looks just like the spirit gun, and Kurama says its power seems to be the same, too. Chu wants to compare his power with Urameshi's, and starts to run. Yusuke keeps up with him...

...but Chu then throws his projectile at him. Yusuke counters by firing a spirit gun blast, and the two projectiles collide.

The projectiles destroy each other, meaning they had even power. The two fighters run towards each other and start punching, with each of them landing hits.

Kuwabara says they're hitting each other without even thinking about blocking. Hiei thinks both are trying to strike at the instant the other pulls back. Koto comments that the two are hitting each other so fast, that she can't even see them with her eyes -there's no way to count how many punches they're throwing at each other! Chu then lands a hit that sends Yusuke flying back.

As Chu prepares another projectile, Hiei says the two are releasing their energy explosively as they fight. If this fight drags on, they'll lose whatever advantage they have, and take their damage with them. Kurama feels that as their power is equal, neither of them is getting out of this unharmed. Chu throws out another, larger projectile, and thinks whatever Urameshi does will be useless -that attack had all the spectral power he had packed into it.

Yusuke aims his spirit gun, but then calls out a new technique: the rapid volley! He fires two blasts, one after the other, which head straight at Chu's projectile...

...and break right through it. They get hit by each other's moves, and seemingly explode.

When the smoke clears, neither fighter is anywhere to be seen, and Botan worries if this means they were both blown away. Koto wonders if they both were able to evade, or are they out of the ring? Rinku says they're above them.

Yusuke and Chu had jumped up without anyone seeing them, and they land back on the ring. But they're both looking worse for wear. Chu says that now Yusuke has used all of his spirit energy, he's no different from any ordinary human. Yusuke tells him he guesses he's right, but then Chu admits that he's also all used up energy wise.

This causes them both to laugh. Koto wonders what's so funny, and comments that this is beyond her comprehension. Gondawara questions what Chu is doing, and asks how he can be having such a hard time against Yusuke.

Kurama says neither fighter has any power left now. Kuwabara thinks this means it's a tie, but Botan says that's not the case. This whole round hangs on this battle between team captains. Chu says they'll have to settle this one way or another, which Yusuke agrees to.

Yusuke and Chu have used up all of their spiritual power! The final death match is now truly underway. Is there any way left for Yusuke to defeat Chu?
