Elder Toguro reveals he can transform his entire body, and changes into a sword that his younger brother wields. Toguro goes on the attack, and easily overpowers Kuwabara and Yusuke. Even a point blank spirit gun blasts to Toguro's head fails to stop him, due to him having his brother changes to a shield at the last moment.

In the Spirit Realm, Kurama decides to head to the mansion, and although Koenma doubts he can get there in time, he's his only hope. Back at the fight, Tarukane is enjoying every moment, and believes he's about to become very rich. He forces Yukina to watch Kuwabara and Yusuke being battered around, and tells her this is what happens to any human who tries to help her, just like the last one. As Yukina thinks about this, Kuwabara is somehow able to see her memories, where he sees how Tarukane tortured her, and how one of his guards tried to help her escape -but was caught and executed before her eyes.

Kuwabara's hatred for Tarukane increases, and in doing so, his spirit energy rises. He challenge Toguro again, but is again knocked back. However he has a plan, and charges forward. Before Toguro realizes what is happening, Yusuke hits Kuwabara in the back with a spirit gun blast, which sends him further forwards at great speed. Kuwabara stabs through Toguro, and defeats him.

Realizing he's lost the bet and is now bankrupt, Tarukane decides to leave with Yukina, but before he can go, Hiei arrives. After beating up his guards, he starts punching Tarukane repeatedly, but Yukina stops him. Yukina tells him that she doesn't want to see any more of people injuring each other, and hating each other, no matter what sort of person they may be. Hiei stops, and says that Tarukane isn't the kind of guy for her to be grieving over. However he realizes that Yukina does not recognize him. As she runs off to join Yusuke and the others, Kurama appears and asks why Hiei didn't tell Yukina that he is her sister. Hiei says he's fine with the way things are. Meanwhile, Yukina finally meets Kuwabara, and starts using her powers to heal his injuries. He asks her not to hate all humans, and she says she doesn't -and she's fond of him. Kuwabara thanks her.

Manga differences

-The dialogue where the Black Black Club members talk about Tarukane losing his composure isn't in the manga.

-Yusuke only uses the spirit gun against Toguro once, which is the point blank head shot. The anime changed it so he fires a blast that Toguro jumps over, and then he also uses the shotgun technique. It's after these attacks when he does the point blank shot.

-The Spirit Realm scenes in this episode aren't in the manga.

-During the flashback where Yukina and the guard are caught, four guards are with Tarukane in the manga. In the episode, there are only two guards.

-In the manga, the guard who tried to help Yukina is seen being riddled with bullets. He does get shot in the episode, but you don't see him on screen when it happens.

-The manga doesn't show Hiei entering the room in the manga. By the time Tarukane realizes Hiei is there, Hiei has already knocked out the guards and Sakashita.

-The dialogue where Tarukane tries to get Hiei to team up with him isn't in the manga.

-Hiei only punches Tarukane once in the manga, and tells him Yukina is worth more than his pitiful life. The anime changed this so Hiei was in danger of getting into trouble for killing a human, and it takes Yukina to stop him from delivering the final strike.

-Kurama does not appear at the end in the manga, like he does in the episode.
