A United Nations research base at the South Pole has been recording a lot of tremors in the area recently, but none of the staff know why they are happening and why they are so frequent. Another tremor starts and as the research team begin to record data, they realise too late that the tremor is heading straight towards them! The base is hit, and badly damaged.
The next day the Multiforce are out in part of South America saving people, as the sea has risen and flooded a city. As the last group of people are taken to safety, the Multiforce discuss why the water has risen so suddenly. Star Saber contacts them and tells them to go to the Antarctic, as they need to find out what has happened to a research station which humans have lost contact with.
Meanwhile at Shuttle Base, Jean and a bunch of his friends are trying to force Holi into helping them with their homework. He refuses, and then tells them that Star Saber and the others are going off to the Antarctic to check some United Nations base and that they can't go. But Jean's friend Clump suddenly reveals that base is where his father works.
Jean, Clump, Holi and Boater board Galaxy Shuttle, who takes off and heads with Star Saber to the Antarctic. At the Antarctic, the Destrons have created a drilling device to drill for oil deep underground.
This oil is transferred into the Thunder Arrow, and converted into energon cubes. Elsewhere in the ship, Hellbat desperately tries to take credit for this plan, as Antarctica is a treasure trove of energy, but Guyhawk gets him to shut up.
The drilling machine is seen by the survivors of the research base, who have a grim situation to deal with. They can't get to the nearest base as it is far away, and they don't have much food left either. But they then hear jet engine noises and all go outside to see the Wing and Mach flying overhead.
However the two Multiforce members are seen by the Destrons, who head outside and unite into Liokaiser. Wing and Mach try to fight Liokaiser, but get punched. Even when Wing charges into one of his legs at full force, he doesn't feel a thing and kicks him back.
The rest of the Multiforce then arrive, and the team quickly unite into Landcross. Landcross says that as long as he's here he'll never let the Destrons have their way. But Liokaiser laughs it off and tells him not to talk big when his strength is nothing special. He then shows Landcross a new technique he has: being able to turn himself invisible.
Liokaiser starts to punch Landcross, and there is nothing the Cybertron can do to fight back. As Landcross falls back, Liokaiser hits him so hard he gets sent flying over to where the drilling machine is. Liokaiser goes to stomp on him...
....but Landcross breaks apart into the Multiforce. Wing and Mach create a a trip wire from their multi-gamma, and use it to snag Liokaiser. They pick him up and fly with him towards the drill.
Liokaiser falls onto the machine, damaging it. There is an energy discharge which happens to break away part of the ice where the research station staff are.
The Multiforce then form Landcross again, but Liokaiser beats him down. Star Saber then arrives and transforms to his larger robot mode, putting himself between Liokaiser and Landcross. But Liokaiser then separates and each member of the Breastforce starts shooting at Star Saber.
Galaxy Shuttle lands and lets out his passengers. Star Saber tells them to move back, whilst telling Galaxy Shuttle to check on Landcross. As he resumes fighting Liokaiser, Galaxy Shuttle moves Landcross back...
...as the others see that the research station staff are now trapped on an iceberg. Boater takes Jean and Clump over to it to rescue them, as Liokaiser and Star Saber continue to fight.
Star Saber gets knocked down, but then Galaxy Shuttle challenges Liokaiser. But Liokaiser simply uses his invisibility technique to knock him down, and then also does the same thing to Star Saber again. Deszaras then appears and says he'll take over from here, but Star Saber transforms and blasts off.
Deszaras transforms and goes after him, as the two clash several times in the air. They both transform back to their robot modes and land on the ice.
The two resume their battle and Deszaras uses his chain to try and tear Star Saber's head off, asking what it feels like to have his life in his hands. Star Saber asks him if he knows what makes a brainmaster: strength, ability, intelligence...and courage! He throws Deszaras off him and the Destron Emperor crashes into the ice. Liokaiser sees what has happened, and thinks that Deszaras should have left Star Saber to him.
Meanwhile Galaxy Shuttle has gotten back up and with everyone else busy fighting, he has snuck off to the top of an iceberg. He shoots at the drilling machine and destroys it. Deszaras sees the explosion, and tells Liokaiser to retreat as the two get inside the Thunder Arrow. The ship takes off and leaves.
Clump's father thanks the Cybertrons for saving him and his team, as Jean says that this is a happy ending for everyone -until Holi reminds him he still has his homework to do! Whilst Star Saber and the Cybertrons narrowly avoided disaster, will they be able to win against Liokaiser's formidable power next time?
