These storyboards can be seen in full at the Sunbow and Marvel Productions Script/Storyboard Archive.
The storyboard on this shot wanted to show the sky, but it's not seen in the movie. Another small difference is that the storyboard has Blurr appear during this shot. In the movie, he's not seen.
The design of the tower Blurr is in was changed.
These shots were cut.
These shots were all cut.
This shot is in the movie, but the difference is that Bombshell isn't present in it. Although the part showing Bombshell destroying a turret was cut, you can still see the destroyed turret in the movie -it's under Thrust.
These shots were cut.
This shot was cut. It was meant to be seen after the Decepticons land near the cannon.
On the storyboard, the Decepticons can be seen through the window. In the movie, they're not there.
The storyboard here does not state who the other dead Autobot should be. The body resembles Smokescreen, but he is not mentioned by name. In the movie, Wheeljack was used here, presumably because he was a character voiced by Chris Latta.
The movie uses a different angle for this shot than what the storyboard has.
The first two storyboards above made it into the movie. But then the next two storyboards, showing Devastator at a different angle, were cut.
Also note that Devastator was meant to say "prepare for extermination" before he starts attacking the wall. In the movie, he says it before he crushes the turret.
These shots of Springer getting the catapult loaded were cut.
In the movie, this shot does not display the pillbox, which is what the storyboard wanted.
The storyboards have the close up shot of Devastator ripping the wall down happening after the second missile is launched. In the movie, it's shown after the first missile hits.
For this shot, the storyboard states that Kup, Perceptor and Blurr should be used. In the movie, Perceptor is seen, but the other two aren't. Instead, Swoop is used instead of Kup (which wasn't the best choice given he's meant to be on Prime's shuttle), whilst Grapple is used instead of Blurr.
These shots were cut. Note how in the storyboards, Wheeljack is still alive. In the movie, Megatron's "defenses are broken" line is said as a voice over -heard during this shot of Devastator breaking open a door. Remember this for later.
This storyboard does not feature Sunstreaker. In the movie, he's co-piloting the shuttle. Unfortunately this creates a continuity error, as he was seen earlier helping setup Kup's roadblock.
This shot was cut. The shot used in the movie was storyboarded for a few seconds later...
...when Swoop flies in.
These shots were all cut. They were meant to be shown after Devastator causes Swoop to crash.
In the movie, the order of these shots was changed around. The first shot is the close up of Prime, the second shot is the view of the Decepticons running (although in the movie, Prime can't be seen during this shot), and then the shot with Hound and Sunstreaker in it is shown last.
This shot was cut. It was meant to be shown just before Optimus transforms.
These shots were cut. They were meant to be shown after Prime guns down Kickback and Dirge.
Right after the shots of the Decepticons piling onto Prime, comes this cut sequence. These storyboards are possibly the equivalent of this shot seen in the movie.
The above storyboards are all part of a cut sequence, where some Autobots blow Devastator apart.
Whilst this shot made it into the movie, the storyboard wanted some debris to fall down. The movie doesn't have this happen.
This sequence was cut. It was meant to be shown during Prime's "that's a question" line.
The above shots were all cut. They were meant to be shown after Megatron tackles Prime.
This shot was cut. Kup's line is heard in the movie, but it's a voice over.
The above was all cut. It was meant to be shown before this shot of Megatron been thrown into a wall.
On the storyboard for this shot, it's made clear that Megatron was meant to pull out the laser dagger from a compartment on his leg. In the movie the animation on this isn't very clear, it looks more like that Megatron randomly finds the laser dagger on the ground. Prime also keeps a hold of the shard, whilst the storyboard wanted him to throw it away.
These shots were cut. They were meant to be seen after Optimus throws Megatron.
These shots were cut. They would have been seen before Kup says "finish him off, Prime".
The storyboard for this shot states to show Prime's wound, but unfortunately the animators missed this.
In the movie, Megatron is not seen firing the gun during this shot.
This storyboard wanted the damage to Megatron to be much more severe to what's seen in the movie.
The positions of Hook and Starscream were switched.
This shot was cut. It was meant to be seen after Kup's "turned the tide" line. It would have revealed that Trailbreaker was killed in the battle.
This storyboard wanted Thundercracker to be the one carrying Bombshell. In the movie, Thundercracker isn't seen carrying anyone.
For this shot, the storyboard wanted the shot to zoom it to the top left, to show some Autobots running towards Prime. This is not shown in the movie, however, it was animated -as of 2021 it is the only deleted footage that has been found for the movie. Certain DVDs of the film contain this deleted footage.
