Synopsis
A group of Autobots come across a quadrant lock, which Galvatron is currently trying to bash open. A Quintesson ship then arrives and fires on Galvatron. The Quintessons also see the Autobots, but they don't want them knowing any more about the quadrant lock. They decide to trap the Autobots on the other side of it, so they open the lock and take their ship through it. In doing so, most of the Autobots are dragged along with the ship, as is Cyclonus. The Transformers crash on a planet called Zamojin and get separated. The Quintessons learn that their isolator key has been damaged, making it impossible to open the lock again. However, they become aware that Perceptor has a universal emulator, which they could use instead of the isolator key. Meanwhile, Perceptor is unable to transform, but is found by a blacksmith called Katsu Don.
Katsu Don takes Perceptor back to his home and cuts the universal emulator out of him, placing it into the damaged head of a small robot called Nijika. The Quintessons send some Sharkticons to get Perceptor, but Katsu Don soundly defeats them. Elsewhere, the other Autobots have regrouped, but Blurr has been damaged. Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus head off on their own, which leads to Blurr being captured by the Zamojins.
Katsu Don then sees that Nijika is active once more, now under Perceptor's control. Katsu Don explains the history of his people, and how they intended to send Nijika into space in a rocket. But they were attacked by the Quintessons, who damaged Nijika and also put the quadrant lock in place, taking away the stars from the sky. The two head to the city, to warn the others that the Quintessons have returned. Meanwhile, Cyclonus finds the Quintessons, and offers to help them in exchange for the secret of the quadrant lock. Elsewhere, Rodimus and Magnus find Perceptor, but realize his universal emulator has been taken. They head to the city.
Blurr is about to be dumped into a pool of lava, but Perceptor convinces everyone to stop. As he warns the people about the Quintessons, Cyclonus and a Quintesson are in the crowd, who quickly get everyone to turn on Perceptor. However the Quintesson takes things too far, leading to Cyclonus having to save Perceptor to stop the universal emulator from being smashed up. They return to the Quintesson ship, but Katsu Don manages to grab onto Cyclonus and gets taken into the ship with him. The Quintessons restrain him and tell Perceptor to give them the universal emulator, which he does. The Quintessons use it as an isolator key fix. The Autobots then enter the ship, and after a brief battle, they leave, along with Katsu Don and the universal emulator.
The Quintessons leave, telling the Autobots they'll be trapped here forever. Cyclonus quickly follows them, but as he does, Perceptor reveals he's done something to fix everything. The quadrant lock is broken and the stars are restored. The Zamojins celebrate, able to use their powers once more. Perceptor has realized that the Zamojin's mental powers are powered by starlight, and the Quintessons must have been afraid of them and what they could become. Sky Lynx lands in front of the Autobots, and Perceptor tells Katsu Don that his ancestor built a spacecraft -will he continue his work? Katsu Don tells him he and Nijika will meet again... out among the stars.
-The Secret Files segment for this episode is about cassette Transformers.
-It's not clear as to why the quadrant lock breaks at the end. Perceptor's dialogue hints that he did something to sabotage it, but if that's the case it's never shown or mentioned as to what it was he did. It's possible a scene explaining it was cut.
-When Sky Lynx fires at the Quintesson ship, his laser blast is colored green instead of yellow.
-Why doesn't Ultra Magnus just transform to help Blurr -his alternate mode is a car carrier!
-Cyclonus and the Quintesson just waltz into the Zamojin festival and nobody cares. The Zamojins are meant to hate the Quintessons, so they should have torn the Quintesson apart the moment they saw him.
-Just before Blurr drives out of the lava, he claims his "wheels are in place". He doesn't have any wheels!
