A revised scripted is available for this episode, which can be read in full at the Sunbow and Marvel Productions Script/Storyboard Archive. The original script was written by Douglas F. Glut on 01/09/1985, whilst Ron Friedman's revised script is dated 01/15/1985.

Unfortunately Ron used a pretty thick marker pen to cross out bits he changed, so it's often hard to tell what was there originally.

This episode's opening narration is different in the script, but the dialogue is cut off and can't be fully read, so I won't be listing it here.

This line was cut from the episode. It was scripted to be said after Megatron's "trouble us no further" line.

This line was cut.

The script wanted Thundercracker to appear here, but the animators used Starscream instead. Megatron also had a line in the script for this sequence, but he doesn't say it in the episode.

You can't fully read Thrust's line on the script, but it's clear part of it was cut -he doesn't say the "sense in my" part in the episode.

This was cut from the episode. It was replaced with a shot of Starscream and Soundwave reacting to the volcano erupting.

In the episode, Sideswipe isn't seen here.

In the episode, Ratchet doesn't put his hand on Sparkplug's shoulder. His "help Spike" line is said immediately after his "not to worry" line, and is not a voice over. The script wanted him to say it as the Autobots leave their HQ.

Ron wrote what gibberish the barbarian should say, but in the episode it doesn't sound anything like this.

This was cut from the episode. It was scripted to happen after Huffer says his line about rush hour traffic.

In the episode, Hound's shoulder turret isn't used.

In the episode, Huffer is seen mouthing this line, but he speaks with Hound's voice.

In the episode, Prime's line here is said before it cuts to a shot of the time warp, and isn't said via voice over.

This was cut from the episode. It was scripted to happen after the barbarians start arriving through the time warp.

The script wanted there to be a sign reading "costume jewelry" for this shot, but in the episode one isn't seen. Instead, you can see several small signs displaying prices. The barbarian here uses a mace rather than a sword.

In the episode, as Prime moves towards the camera, he says "forward!". This wasn't in the script.

In the episode, the barbarian kicks over the trash can after another barbarian attacks the fireplug, in the script it was the other way around. The barbarians are also armed with maces rather than swords.

This was mostly cut -Sideswipe can be heard saying the following: "I hope your packed your trunk!", however the animators drew Sunstreaker.

Huffer isn't seen closing the trailer door shut in the episode, and this line was shortened to just "What, Optimus?".

ACT 2

Hound isn't seen using his shoulder turret in the episode, instead he raises his gun. His blasts looks exactly like Sunstreaker's: a yellow beam.

This scene was cut.

This line for Prime was cut.

In the episode, this line is not a voice over. The shot remains on Optimus as he says it.

This shot was cut.

This was cut from the episode, it was meant to happen after the bike gang encounters the cowboys.

The script doesn't mention anything about one of the pirates throwing a hook onto the other boat, or Tracks shooting the hook later, but that's what is featured in the episode.

In the episode, the biker and cowboy leaders do actually start hitting each other for a few seconds.

In the episode, Perceptor and Beachcomber aren't seen using Teletraan I here.

In the episode, the second act ends after Wheeljack's "active again" line, but in the script there is some additional dialogue for Chip which was all cut.

ACT 3

This was cut from the episode. It was scripted after Megatron's "we can always relocate" line.

In the episode, Slag's line was changed to "Huuuh... Slag tired!" whilst Swoop's line was cut entirely.

In the episode, whilst Slag is seen raising his fist, no energy crackles out of it.

In the episode, Grimlock isn't seen with a sword here.

This dialogue was all cut.

The script has the Autobots firing a variety of projectiles, but in the episode everyone fires lasers. The script also states Beachcomber should fire lasers from his hands for this shot, but the animators drew him with a little gun. Later on in the episode he is seen firing hand lasers though.

Everything before Megatron's line here was cut.

In the episode, Skywarp is shown getting hit, then Thundercracker flies in and starts firing, but Starscream is heard saying this line. The script wasn't exactly clear though as it seems to suggest Skywarp "fires his null-ray", so it was probably meant to be Starscream.

Warpath doesn't say "Zorch! Zap!" in the episode.

This was all cut from the episode, and was scripted to happen before the Dinobots land on a cliff. Had this been left in, it would have explained why the Autobots lose so suddenly.

Again, Grimlock doesn't use a sword in the episode. He raises his gun instead, and fires it a few times into the air.

Ron added some dialogue for the Decepticons to say as the dinosaurs attack them, but none of it is heard in the episode.

In the episode, Grimlock isn't seen nodding.

This was almost completely cut from the episode. In the episode's final shot, there is a force field around the island. However, I'm not sure what the deal is with this as in the first part, as Powerglide flies towards the island, there's a force field around it then as well. Later on in part one, it's seen again as Laserbeak follows the Autobots to the island.
