The Decepticons ally with Nergill, the leader of Sub-Atlantica.

Synopsis

Soundwave discovers an underwater city. Believing it must generate enormous amounts of energy, Megatron leads the Decepticons to it. There, they meet Nergill, the leader of Sub-Atlantica. Nergill and Megatron join forces, with Nergill's people producing energon for the Decepticons in exchange for them helping in taking over the Earth. The Autobots all pick up the energy readings, so a group of them are sent to investigate. When they arrive they are attacked by the Decepticons, and Wheeljack is captured. The rest of the group manage to escape, as more Autobots are sent to Washington. The Decepticons and Sub-Atlanticans invade Washington and put a invulnerability dome around it, but not before the Autobots manage to get in.

Bumblebee and Spike are able to enter the Sub-Atlantican fortress, where they save Wheeljack from Starscream. In the city, the Autobots fight the Decepticons, but Nergill attacks some of them with his magnetic dysfunction ray, which disables them. Wheeljack's group arrive in the city and see what's going on, so Wheeljack calls for some backup from the Dinobots. The Dinobots arrive and smash apart the dome, as Grimlock starts fighting with Megatron. Nergill sees this and decides to blast both of them with his ray.

But he is punched by Starscream before he can fire, who believes he's a traitor. Nergill's gun ends up in Grimlock's hands, who crushes it. This saves the effected Autobots, so the Decepticons and Nergill's forces retreat back to Sub-Atlantica. The Autobots transform and hit the sea, as they begin an attack on the fortress. Nergill sees that the Dinobots are wrecking his city, so he decides to destroy everyone.

The Autobots try to stop Nergill from blowing up the fortress, but he manages to cause an explosion in his energy reserves. The Decepticons immediately retreat, whilst the Autobots also manage to get out. Sub-Atlantica explodes and sinks deep beneath the sea. Spike realizes that they've lost Nergill. Prime tells him not to fear -he doesn't think they'll be hearing from him for a long time. Spike wishes they could say the same thing about the Decepticons.

Notes

-The scrambled telepathic communications Nergill uses twice in this episode can be properly listened to if slowed down:

The second one is a bit weird, because when Soundwave plays it back, he gets a completely different message from it!

Errors

-Optimus fires a yellow colored laser at Thundercracker, but when the shot changes, the laser has changed color to green.
-Slag's head is colored gray instead of red during this shot.
-When Optimus runs towards the Washington Monument, another Optimus is stood watching him.
-Nergill's leg turns gray for a few frames when Wheeljack grabs him.
