Q] What is the best way of owning this?
A] The DVD can be picked up for next to nothing on eBay. It includes both the English and Japanese dubs of the film, and has some extra features like a behind the scenes video with the Japanese voice cast.
Q] Isn't Gouki known as Akuma outside of Japan?
A] He is, but for this movie, it was decided that they were going to keep his name as "Gouki" for the non-Japanese dubs, for reasons I'm not exactly sure on.
Q] Is this film a prequel to the previous Street Fighter Alpha movie?
A] The back of the box claims it is, but it really isn't, and has nothing to do with it. And if this was a prequel, then Sakura should already know who Ryu is in the first Alpha movie.
Q] Was this film released in Japan?
A] Not right away. Whilst an Japanese dub was created for the film, the film wasn't actually released in Japan until 2009, four years after it was released in America and Europe. Even then, it was only available as a bonus feature on the DVD release of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
Q] Is there another Street Fighter Alpha anime on the way?
A] Shortly after this film was released, rumors began to circulate that another Alpha anime was in production. However this turned out to be untrue. The next anime would not be released until 2008, and was based on Street Fighter IV.
Q] What is the deal with Ryu's headband?
A] If you take a look at the image on the back of the box, Ryu has a red headband, like he does in the Street Fighter II series, but in the actual movie itself, the headband is white, like it is in the Street Fighter Alpha series. I can only guess this was a mistake that was changed late on in production, so late that the marketing team still had access to some old images.
