Synopsis

Some people are attacked by a vampire, but the Hellsing organization kill her before she can do anything to them. Seras was meant to take the shot, but she hesitated. When she goes back to Hellsing HQ, she meets someone called Walter, who shows her to new room. Elsewhere, Integra informs Alucard about two vampires, who are murdering families and using their remains to write blasphemous messages on the walls.

The two vampires are Leif and Jessica, who have just slaughtered yet another family. Believing they'll get stronger and will be able to live forever, the pair head out to their next target. At the Hellsing HQ, Seras visits the firing range. She meets Gareth, who gives her a heavy weapon that she's able to easily hold thanks to her new strength. She hits a target, but Gareth tells her to aim for the heart rather than the torso. They then get called into action, as the vampires have been spotted. Leif and Jessica are being chased by the police, but they lose them when Jessica shoots at the police cars and makes them crash.

Alucard uses his powers to transport them to a tunnel. Finding them both pathetic, he gets into a shootout with Leif, but he easily wins and kills him by blowing a hole through his chest. Jessica runs away, so Alucard tells the police girl not to fail him this time. Seras knows the target is 500 meters away, but she is still easily able to see her. This time, she takes the shot, which kills Jessica.

Fargason welcomes Seras to the Hellsing organization, then orders everyone to withdraw. Later on, Alucard congratulates the police girl. Seras says she has a name, but Alucard warns her she must drink blood, or she will become weak. As he disappears, he tells her to do as he says. Seras says yes to her master's orders.

Manga Differences

-In the manga, after the events of Alucard taking Seras to Integra, there is a flashback scene showing Integra's past. The anime doesn't use this yet, but it will be shown later.

-The scene were Seras goes to the firing range happens differently in the manga. In the manga, it's Alucard who explains to Seras where to shoot, and demonstrate by shooting a target himself. In the anime, Gareth tells her to shoot the monster in the heart. Gareth doesn't appear in the manga.

-In the manga, Integra visits one of the houses where Leif and Jessica have killed everyone, whilst she doesn't in the anime.

-The scene in the episode where Seras is shown to her bedroom by Walter isn't in the manga.

-The short scene where Seras smacks the medical blood away isn't in the manga.

-In the manga, once Leif and Jessica talk about how they'll live forever, Alucard rings the doorbell. Alucard then shoots Leif, Leif fires back but does no damage. Alucard then shoots up Leif again, but finishes him off by stabbing through him. The anime changed this by having Alucard use his powers to transport Leif and Jessica to a tunnel. Alucard kills Leif by shooting him.

-An entire unit of Hellsing troops is sent in to deal with Leif and Jessica in the anime, whilst in the manga, it's just Alucard and Seras who are sent.

-In the manga, Alucard talks to Seras telepathically, instructing her how to shoot Jessica. This does not happen in the anime.

-Peter Fargason does not appear in the manga.

-The scene at the end between Alucard and Seras isn't in the manga.

Notes

-At the end of the credits, there is a shot of Alucard's sunglasses. One of three characters can be seen in them in each episode: Alucard, Seras or Integra. In this episode, Integra is seen.
