In 2005, Metrodome released a four disc set of the series in the UK, however, the set is region 0 so it will play in any DVD player. The subtitles in this set are average/poor quality, littered with spelling and translation errors. For example, most of the time the American names for characters and concepts are used, but occasionally the Japanese names are used by mistake (such as Destron instead of Decepticon). There is also a glitch with the subtitles for this episode, which result in some subtitles from this episode being displayed -including a line which reveals MegaZarak's weak spot.
Perhaps the worst thing of all is that the episodes themselves are not quite complete -Toei supplied Metrodome with incomplete masters. This means that the sequences before the title cards are missing. In the main this isn't much of an issue, as these sequences were just catch-ups of previous episodes. But sometimes these sequences were actually new scenes, for example, this episode actually starts with a scene were Sixshot rallies together some Destrons and sends them out to attack.
The only extras on the set are a commentary for the first three episodes by a fan called Chris McFeely, and the Omni Productions dub and scripts for the entire series. This set was later used in "The Complete Takara Collection" which also included Super-God Masterforce, Victory and Zone.
Madman Entertainment released the series in Australia in 2007. It has the same subtitles as the Metrodome set, including all of the errors, but has a lot more special features. It includes some toy and art galleries and some Japanese commercials for the toys. It also has the Omni Productions dub on it. This set would later be included in Madman's "The Transformers: Japan Generation 1 Complete Collection".
This set was released in America in 2011, courtesy of Shout! Factory. It contains 35 episodes across 4 discs, and uses the subtitles from the Metrodome version, but heavily edits them to use Transformers-specific terminology and fix other errors. The only extra on this set is an art gallery, and the Omni Productions dub is not included.
