The Destron Headmasters are chasing down Arcee and Wheelie, but then Daniel appears. He says he'll take them on, something the Destrons think is funny. They charge towards him, but Daniel opens fire with his blaster.
He wipes out the Destrons, but it turns out it was just a video game. Arcee thinks he did well, but Wheelie thinks the game takes no skill. Highbrow programmed it and made it to easy to hit the targets. Wheelie challenges him by holding up a small ball and telling him to shoot it. Daniel takes aim...and shoots Wheelie in the arm. Whoops!
The Cybertrons are after MegaZarak, but Highbrow picks up an SOS signal. The signal is being sent from planet Daros. Fortress decides to go and check it out, and has his ship go to the planet immediately.
DAROS
The ship lands in the northern hemisphere. The Cybertron's computers do not pick up any energy readings, and they wonder why the Destrons would come here. Chromedome says they should just find the source of the SOS anyway, and he and the other Cybertron Headmasters move out. The group are surprised to find some kind of factory, and they then see several people running away, screaming for help.
The people are suddenly gunned down -the Destron Headmasters are the ones responsible. The explain that these people are prisoners, and this place is a penal colony. Chromedome says that is no reason for them to be slaughtered, but Weirdwolf suggests they give the Cybertrons the death sentence. The Headmasters fight, but the Cybertrons quickly overpower them and make them retreat.
The Cybertrons enter the factory, and find three survivors, including a man named Curl. Chromedome asks them some questions, but they don't talk, their spirits crushed by the hard labor they have had to do. The only information he gets out of Curl is that the SOS was sent by a Beastformer. Chromedome decides to send the three men back to Battleship Maximus, and the Trainbots transport them to the ship. Fortress meets them and says they must be exhausted, so he has Arcee take them to one of the rooms to rest. They can talk later.
Wheelie decides to be his usual stupid self when he starts nosing around. Daniel tells him to stop it, so Wheelie pushes him away. Daniel accidentally hits the door switch, which opens the door. The leader of the three men starts talking to Daniel and asks to be friends with him...only to then pull a knife out and tell Wheelie that he'll kill Daniel unless he gets to talk to Fortress right now. Wheelie lets Fortress and Arcee know, and Fortress contacts Curl via a camera in the room.
Curl explains that he wants this ship so he can use it to go and destroy the ones that made him and the others work in the penal colony, and if he doesn't get it, he'll kill Daniel. Fortress says that he can give him this ship, but he won't know how to operate it. Curl tells Fortress he can pilot it himself -he wants him to fly the ship towards the southern hemisphere. Fortress says he will need to call the Cybertron Headmasters back, as they are the pilots. Daniel realises that Fortress is trying to buy him some time to try something, and he reaches for his blaster...but Curl sees it and takes the gun off him. He thinks it is just a toy and throws it away.
However Daniel bites Curl's arm, and gets away from him. He jumps towards his blaster, but he doesn't get the chance to use it -Fortress uses a beam on the three men to paralyze them. Twincast, Arcee and Wheelie enter the room. Twincast assures Daniel that the three men aren't dead, they will return to normal shortly.
The three men are taken back to Fortress, and Curl finally explains what has happened on his planet. He and the others were originally from the southern hemisphere of the planet, a place rich in natural resources. Everything used to be divided equally, but then an elite class took over. They kept all of the wealth for themselves, whilst the less fortunate struggled to survive. Many citizens were left in poverty, and the elite class treated them as if they were worthless. A resistance group formed, but they had no real power and were quickly defeated. The captured resistance members were sent to work in labor camps. Curl explains this is why he wanted the ship -to crush the corrupt elite class. Fortress says he will help them.
Elsewhere, Spacepunch arrives to inform the Cybertron Headmasters on some things he has discovered. The Beastformer who sent the SOS is called Tekna, and he knows something about MegaZarak. The Destrons are already searching for Tekna, and he suggests that they do the same so they can find out what he knows about MegaZarak. He believes that Tekna may be hiding in the South-North caves. Chromedome and Highbrow transform to go to look for Tekna, whilst Hardhead and Brainstorm go back to Battleship Maximus to inform Fortress on what is going on.
Meanwhile, Battleship Maximus is heading towards the southern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere is the "Great Undersea Oil Field", and it is also the place where the elite class live.
The Destrons are at the castle of the elite class -and are treated with respect. Galvatron explains that as long as they are here, the Cybertrons won't harm them. The leader of the elite class says his words are reassuring, but Galvatron reminds him this comes at a price: energy. He says he wants whatever he desires, and the leader is fine with this arrangement.
MegaZarak is already in the oilfields, and is loading up with vast amounts of energon cubes. Galvatron says they will take all of this energy before the Cybertrons can stop them, but then Soundblaster comes over and says Battleship Maximus has been spotted. Galvatron has Sixshot and the Horrortrons sent out to distract them. Nearby, Battleship Maximus lands.
Fortress does not want Curl and the other two men on the ship whilst there is fighting going on, and has the Trainbots evacuate them. This leaves Brainstorm and Hardhead to go out and fight the Destrons, but they are outnumbered. The Horrortrons make Brainstorm crash into one of the ship's guns.
Chromedome and Highbrow enter the caves, where Tekna sees them. He introduces himself and the narrator states that he was forced to work on the design and construction of MegaZarak. He knows the secret of MegaZarak -he knows that he has a weak spot. But before he can get a chance to reveal it, he is shot in the back. Weirdwolf appears, and Chromedome tells Highbrow to take Tekna to safety whilst he chases after Weirdwolf.
Highbrow reaches Battleship Maximus and takes Tekna to the medical bay, before he goes back outside to join the battle. Hardhead is struggling against Sixshot, but then Chromedome appears to help him out.
Having loaded up with a lot of energon, Galvatron has MegaZarak transform to scorpion mode and move out. Back at the battle, the Horrortrons are once again proving to be tough opponents. The Cybertron Headmasters want to use the Master shot attack, but Highbrow and Brainstorm are running low on energy.
The Cybertron Headmasters leave their transectors and, in their smaller robot modes, use the Head Formation technique. This powers Brainstorm and Hardhead back up, and the four of them grab onto one of Battleship Maximus' cannons. Using the Master Shot attack, they blow away the Destrons.
MegaZarak transforms to robot mode and smashes through the four of them, making them drop the cannon. Fortress transforms into Fortress Maximus, and engages Mega Zarak in battle.
Chromedome and the others retrieve the cannon, and start shooting at MegaZarak. Galvatron appears, telling MegaZarak to stop fighting -they are going to retreat with the energon they've got instead. The Destrons pull away and leave the planet, but Fortress Maximus they have another task to do before chasing after them.
The Cybertrons go to the place where the elite class live. The leader says that if the Cybertrons protect them, they can have all the energy they want. Fortress says that his reign is over. A new age will dawn with a new leader: Curl. With the poorer class saved, the Cybertrons leave the planet.
Tekna is in a bad way, and cannot even speak. He raises his hand, but then drops it. The Cybertrons notice something on his arm: a small strip of microfilm, which Highbrow thinks may contain the information on MegaZarak's weak spot. Tekna dies seconds later, and the Cybertrons give him a space burial.
Later on, Highbrow starts to inspect the microfilm, but he tells the others it looks very complicated. He does say that he won't stop until he discovers MegaZarak's weak spot. Hardhead says they're counting on him, as Battleship Maximus once again goes after the Destrons.
NOTES
As you may have noticed above, when Daniel first appears, the "D" on his jacket is reversed. This is presumably to fix the error where his gun holster is on the wrong side...at the cost of making another error with the reversed "D". Hmm.
The blaster Daniel has is known as the Challenge Blaster, and has the same design as the gun included in the Video Challenger set. The video challenger is a toy gun which responded to signals from a video tape included in the set. The intro sequence for The Headmasters features the Destrons as targets the gun could shoot, from episode 14 and onwards.
