Metroflex reports that a third Death Tower has appeared in Washington. The Airbots have been sent out, but it unlikely there is anything they can do about it. Fortress knows that this means there is a tower in the northern hemisphere, as he thought there would be. The Cybertrons try and work out where the next Death Tower will appear. Chromedome thinks Scorponok is a coward, as he still hasn't shown himself.

Fortress points out a location where he thinks the next tower will appear. Blanker thinks the Destrons are at the bottom of the Mediterranean. Highbrow mentions that the city of Lemuria was meant to have sunk under the Indian Ocean, and it could be where the Destrons are getting the crysmagnetal from. Spacepunch then contacts them saying that he's found out that MegaZarak is heading to Egypt. Scorponok has had the other three Death Towers fitted with energy induction boosters to amplify their effects. The fourth Death Tower will surely be revealed in Egypt. Fortress tells him that they are on their way.

The Cybertrons blast off, but Daniel and Wheelie are left behind with Metroflex. They are upset since they're warriors also, but Metroflex tells them not to be disappointed they aren't going. The Death Towers have been destroying various places and with many injured people they need to go and help them out.

Meanwhile, Sixshot has arrived in Egypt, and scouts out the desert. He finds a large crater in the sand that he thinks only MegaZarak could have made. Elsewhere, Soundblaster is in the Alps and spots Battleship Maximus. He reports to Apeface in Egypt, warning him that the Cybertrons are on the way. As Battleship Maximus arrives in Egypt...

...Hardhead points out that some Destrons are heading their way, but there are only three of them. The Destron Headmasters land on the ship, and the Cybertron Headmasters go out to meet them.

Weirdwolf says they'll use the trio transformation! Mindwipe has no idea what that is, so Weirdwolf gets him and Skullcruncher to huddle for a moment, so he can explain to them what they need to do. After a few seconds, the Destron Headmasters transform, and stack on top of each other -this is the trio formation, which confuses enemies! And Chromedome and the others do seem to be taken aback by it. Mindwipe is glad they look confused, whilst Weirdwolf says he spent all night creating this formation idea.

However, the Horrortrons then show up, and they want to help out. They transform from their jet modes to animal modes, and land on the trio formation. But Weirdwolf and the others can't take the weight, and as they stumble, Fortress activates his ship's engines, causing all of the Destrons to fall off.

Sixshot notices that Fortress has arrived, but then everything starts to shake. Another Death Tower bursts out of the ground, and Fortress and the others also see it.

Daniel and Wheelie are at a ship called the Queen World, and the injured are being transported off it, including Carly. Daniel wants to stay here, but Spike says he'll look after her and he can go and help the Cybertrons elsewhere. Daniel and Wheelie then set off whilst Spike and Carly tell them to be careful.

Meanwhile, the new Death Tower is now ready and the Clonetrons prepare an energy booster for it so even more energy can be drained from the Earth. Scorponok laughs, as his grand plan is coming close to completion. The Death Tower in Egypt turns the sky dark as it begins to extract energy from the Earth's core.

With the new Death Tower activated, Fortress knows that it is too late to do anything about it. MegaZarak then appears from beneath the sand. Fortress tells him to give up, but he's obviously not going to do that, and instead tells all Destrons to get aboard.

Fortress transforms into his giant robot mode and tells MegaZarak that he's coming for him, but as he runs towards his enemy the Death Tower's electromagnetic waves blast him.

MegaZarak tells Fortress Maximus that he will have a part to play in his plan, and then starts to leave. Fortress Maximus lunges after him, but gets blasted again. Metroflex arrives as he and the other Cybertrons check their leader is alright.

Sixshot follows MegaZarak and sees him crash into the Indian ocean. Sixshot doesn't understand why the Destrons have come here, as the Clonetrons told him they were going to the North Pole next. He dives into the water, only to get sucked into a whirlpool. When he gets up, he finds himself in a underground city -Lemuria!

A door opens, as Scourge tells Scorponok that the crysmagnetal will soon penetrate the planet's North and South poles. Scorponok tells him they've come this far and they must succeed, but as he reaches the bottom of some stairs, he is stunned to see Sixshot standing in front of him! Sixshot asks if he's surprised to see him, or surprised to see him alive. Scorponok tells him his sense of humor has improved since they last met. Sixshot tells him he has become an even better talker. Scorponok tells him not to make fun of him, but instead shows him his plan.

He leads Sixshot into a large room which Devastor and Menasor are guarding. The room is full of crysmagnetal that the Destrons are collection, and Scorponok explains that the substance is a wonderful metal which has tremendous destructive capabilities. Sixshot asks if they can blow up the Earth, and Scorponok says yes -once their satellite enters the planet's orbit. Sixshot says he just came to say goodbye, and turns to leave. But as he does this, Scorponok thinks he is going to betray him and reveal his plans, so he shoots him.

The laser blast goes right through Sixshot -he was a multiple the entire time! Scorponok is surprised, as several Sixshot multiples appear and tell him he is the traitor around here. They then all vanish. Scorponok says he will destroy everyone on the Earth.

Another Death Tower appears in the South Pole, and soon the entire Earth is covered with electro-magnetic waves which start to cause major damage to the planet. Scorponok's satellite is also ready, and circles part of the Earth. Meanwhile, Fortress has assembled a group of warriors, and the Cybertrons head to the North Pole.

As they arrive there, the Cybertrons don't understand why Fortress would have a part to play in Scorponok's plan, and that it must be a trick or something. They then see that MegaZarak stands in robot mode, surrounded by many other Destrons. Fortress says he will take down MegaZarak, but they must try and find out how to stop his plans. They also see that there is a dais of inactive crysmagnetal behind MegaZarak.

MegaZarak tells his troops to run amok until the countdown ends. They fly straight towards the Cybertrons, and the Cybertrons fly straight towards them. A massive battle begins, and as the two sides battle each other, Fortress tries to ram into MegaZarak. With the power of his shield, MegaZarak manages to stop Battleship Maximus.

Meanwhile Chromedome and Hardhead are under attack by Mindwipe's hypnosis, but Twincast arrives to save the day thanks to his cassettes taking the Destron Headmaster down. Fortress transforms into Fortress Maximus...

...and strikes at MegaZarak. But once again, the Zarak shield is strong enough to stop the Master Sword. MegaZarak tells him to watch out for their fortress overhead -Fortress Maximus gets tricked into looking up, and as MegaZarak laughs at his stupidity, he knocks the Master Sword out of his hand and then smashes him to the ground. Thankfully Daniel and Wheelie arrive to save him by distracting MegaZarak.

This gives Fortress Maximus enough time to get the Master Sword back and take a swipe at MegaZarak, knocking him far back. Daniel and Wheelie cheer him on, only for them to get blasted by Battletrap. He is about to stomp on them when a stray laser blast narrowly misses him.

As he turns around to see who fired, Guardian saves Daniel and Wheelie by punching Battletrap out of the way. Daniel thinks Sixshot was the one who fired that laser, and calls out to him. He only hears Sixshot, who tells him it is dangerous and he needs to get back. Daniel wants to see Sixshot to make sure he's alright, but Sixshot says if he sees him now, parting will be difficult. But Menasor then decides to interrupt their conversation, and goes straight for Daniel!

Thankfully Sixshot saves the day again, taking Menasor down. Sixshot appears and tells Daniel to look after himself, before departing the battlefield.

MegaZarak is standing on the dais of crysmagnetal, and says that the satellite is directly above him. He tells Fortress Maximus to come and get him. Fortress Maximus doesn't know what a mistake this is and attempts to slice MegaZarak in two, but his blow is blocked by MegaZarak's shield.

Just as this happens, the satellite blasts both MegaZarak and Fortress Maximus with energy, which enters the dais and threatens to completely destroy the Earth. Fortress Maximus finds he cannot even move. Scorponok transforms, leaving his MegaZarak transector, and tells Fortress Maximus that this is the end of the planet. He then heads into space, and the other Destrons follow him.

Fortress Maximus still cannot move and all the other Cybertrons can do is watch. Chromedome says they've got to save him, and the four Cybertron Headmasters use their Head Formation to try and do it.

They blast their leader with an energy beam, but it does nothing. Daniel is watching, but then he remembers something Sixshot told him..."Daniel! The Cybertrons have strong bonds of friendship. You must unite!"

Daniel says that everyone to unite their powers. Wheelie tells the other Cybertrons that they must enter the same formation, and the entire army leaps up into the air, linking arms, and surrounded Chromedome, Hardhead, Highbrow and Brainstorm. They all begin to spin around, creating the "final formation" technique. Channeling their collected energy, the four Headmasters send it straight into their leader. Fortress Maximus is revived, and sends all the energy from the satellite back where it came from. Up in space, the satellite explodes.

Nearby, the Destron army watch the satellite's destruction, and Scorponok can't believe his plan has been ruined. Back on Earth, Fortress Maximus says he will finish MegaZarak...

...and does so by slicing the lifeless transector in two. It explodes into nothing.

The battle is over. The Destrons have been driven off the Earth and are heading out into space. But the Cybertrons know they must go after them to stop them from destroying other planets, and that means that they have to leave the Earth too. Fortress tells Daniel that they'll keep the universe safe from the Destrons and that they'll come back to Earth sometime. Wheelie says he'll make sure they do.

The Cybertrons blast off whilst Spike and Carly wave, and Daniel shouts out goodbye. Fortress' ship heads towards the sunset.

NOTES

Whilst they looked like they died in the previous episode, the Clonetrons are back in this one.

Similar to the above, the Queen World ship was seemingly sunk in the previous episode, but is back in this one, being used to transport injured people. It has different colors compared to the last episode.

This episode marks the only time Wheelie uses a (non-toy) gun in the entire series.

After the final scene, a clean version of the intro sequence plays, although it has a slightly different end part featuring the transformed Fortress Maximus.
