You can't see this, but the truck Lin heads out in moves much faster in the original version, with the fade out to the next scene happening later. In the DVD version, the truck moves slower and the fade out to the next scene happens sooner.
Toki's village features more greenery in the DVD.
I was generally for these changes until this one.
Even the food Shuu eats got changed!
When Shuu warns everyone not to eat the food, there was an error in the original version where his right eye has a pupil in it. This entire shot of him was re-done for the DVD.
Souther's troops had extremely shiny bikes for this shot in the original version. The shine was removed for the DVD.
Souther is another character who received a lot of changes for the DVD.
I'll say this now: the animators must have been really unhappy with the original version of this fight scene between Kenshiro and Souther, as the DVD version has almost been been totally re-done.
When Souther explains his style has no stance, the original version has a close up of his eyes. The DVD zooms in slowly towards his face.
This rather bad coloring error on Souther was fixed for the DVD.
