Kenshiro starts to yell and in doing so, his torn shirt is destroyed completely, but the chains around his arms and legs break up and he is basked in light. Fugen turns around to observe what is going on...
...and he sees that Ken has completely destroyed the cross he was on, as a light shines down on him. He says that the heavens have lent Kenshiro their strength. This event hasn't just been seen by him however...
...as Souther...
...Toki...
...and Raoh have all felt Kenshiro's call.
Meanwhile Danne is with a small force of men ready to fight, when Gadess breaks down a wall and declares that he has joined Jugai's army -so they can all die! He is about to strike them all down with his mace when there is an explosion behind him...
...and he turns around to see Kenshiro, carrying Fugen, walking through the smoke towards him. Gadess recognises Ken from their earlier battle, and says he'll win this time. He charges towards him. Before he gets to strike, Kenshiro hits him on his forehead with one finger.
Only this time, Gadess actually explodes a few seconds later. Ken puts Fugen down as Danne and her father run over to him. Ken says that because of them, he now knows what his destiny is, and what they are all praying for.
Jugai and another regiment of his army enter the city and head towards the center of it. Ken sees them and starts to walk towards where they are going. As he walks, he tells Danne that he will always be at her side, and he will fight. This is the will of the heavens. Danne is about to follow him when Fugen stops her, telling her to just watch this fight. It doesn't matter how many go up against Kenshiro, they will not win now. He is destined to become the savior they are all hoping for.
Jugai's troops think Kenshiro is insane to try and take them all on by himself. Jugai orders his archers to open fire and they do, but Ken catches all of their arrows...
...and returns them to where they came from. All of Jugai's archers get killed almost instantly, as Jugai decides to take this man seriously. He recognises the technique Kenshiro just used (Nishi Shinku Ha), but then one of his Generals tells the other troops to advance.
Kenshiro says that anyone who wants to die need only step forward and as Jugai's troops charge, Kenshiro takes them out with ease. As Fugen said, it doesn't seem to matter how many go up against him, the result is always the same.
Soon Kenshiro stands alone among many dead bodies. Jugai has realises that this Kenshiro is the successor to Hokuto Shinken, and gets up to challenge him. Whilst this is going on, Siska is happy watching Kenshiro beat up everyone. The detonator he is holding is actually a fake one and he tosses it aside...
..before pulling out the real one, which he had hidden in his belt buckle. He is still willing to blow everyone up if Kenshiro falls though. He starts laughing, but then screams as something cuts his hand off! One of Jugai's men appears in the room and picks up the dropped detonator unit. They now have both of them, but they just need the password.
Siska wants to know how he got in here, and how he knew about the detonators and password, when one of his own troops walks in. The soldier says that he has helped Jugai after he promised that he would release all of the hostages Siska had. Jugai's man jumps up onto the table and demands to be told what the password is, if Siska doesn't tell him then he'll kill him. Siska tells him that the password is MOMO 0328 -he explains that it the password is the name and date of birth of his now deceased daughter.
"I see. How sweet."
The man stabs Siska and sends blood everywhere. With him out of the way, he quickly throws out a blade weapon which takes care of the soldier at the door.
The man looks at Siska one last time before heading out to the balcony, where Jugai's eagle is waiting. He straps the detonator to the bird and tells him to go back to his master, as with this action it means the city is now his.
Jugai removes his cape and asks if Kenshiro is the successor to Hokuto Shinken. Ken doesn't answer and instead tells him to just leave this place, he will only die needlessly if he doesn't. Jugai thinks he is pretty full of himself. How could his fighting style, which couldn't stop Shin from taking away his woman, possibly hold up against his strength?! He uses a rapid strikes technique...
...which Kenshiro manages to dodge, coming away with just a couple of small cuts. Jugai tells him that this time his Nanto Koshu Ken will slice Kenshiro to pieces. Kenshiro stares at him and thinks about what Shin said...
"Power is the new justice. We've entered a new era...the strong are now free to take whatever they desire. The likes of you cannot defeat me. There is a fundamental different in ability between us. That difference is desire and tenacity! It's desire that makes me strong. You do not possess this!"
Back in the present, Ken says that taking the loves of others to satisfy your own selfish desires leaves nothing but emptiness. Jugai thinks his words are foolish, and jumps high into the air to use a kick technique Kenshiro is all to familiar with. Ken also leaps up.
NANTO GOKUTO KEN
(South Star Hell Slaughter Fist)
Both fighters land. Jugai hasn't suffered any damage, whilst Kenshiro's chest has been sliced into. However Ken leaps up again as his opponent also jumps. This time Jugai uses a rapid strike move, but his fists are nowhere near as fast as Kenshiro's.
The two clash in the air once more, and they then land. But this time, Jugai's chest is suddenly pummeled and he coughs up a lot of blood. He doesn't understand how this could happen, as he considers himself to be on the same level of power as Shin. Kenshiro says that it was the heavens who defeated him. Jugai's eagle then returns and he takes the remote from him...
...and tosses it to Kenshiro. He explains that this city can be his now, and that Siska is dead. He says that Kenshiro doesn't look like he is of evil intent...he wants Ken to show him how far that naive kindness of his can take him. He will be watching from the netherworld. Jugai then dies.
One side starts cheering as the other side -which consists of what remains of Jugai's army -get scared and start to retreat, believing that Kenshiro is some kind of monster. Everyone else is happy, as now they can finally go and free their families from the palace. Everyone starts to run towards the palace, as Danne thanks Kenshiro before following her father and everyone else.
Ken watches everyone run in but he remains outside. However, inside the palace, Siska lives! And he says that those two detonators weren't they only way he could blow this place sky high. If he can't have this city, then nobody can! He flips up the arm rest on his chair, revealing a yellow button.
He punches it and suddenly, the entire city beings to shake. Jugai's man is still in the palace and wonders what is going on whilst the hostages, who have just been released by everyone, also wonder why everything is shaking.
Ken has noticed something is wrong but a second later, the palace is rocked with explosions. But rather than just bring down the palace, the amount of explosives is much greater than anyone thought, and the entire city is rocked with explosions. The palace crumbles and then explodes completely.
Later on, Kenshiro pulls himself out of some rubble and looks around. Everyone he tried to protect has died. Well, nearly everyone -he finds that Fugen has also survived, but he clearly isn't going to be alive much longer. Fugen tells Kenshiro not to cry, and that he must take all of their sadness and engrave it into his heart. They will become his shield as he carries this great burden of sadness. He then tells him to go on and walk down the path of the savior.
Fugen then dies, leaving Kenshiro alone in the now destroyed city. He takes a look at the pendant that Guruma gave him, and then yells out to the heavens.
(And so, Kenshiro's journey continues...)
