Baran reveals how he knew Raoh.

Baran still cannot believe that Raoh was defeated, and gave up his might for love. He remembers the time he first saw Raoh, slaying an entire army of enemies and killing the last man with the Hokuto Goushou Ha. This was the moment Baran saw Raoh as being a man who was greater than God. Baran begged Raoh for him to teach him Hokuto Shinken. When Raoh asked why, Baran said he wanted it to take revenge against God, who took his sister away from him. Raoh said that he may follow him, however, he could not teach it -as Hokuto Shinken only has one successor. He told Baran to steal it from him instead.



After watching Raoh fight, Baran began to learn how to strike pressure points, and then even managed to master some techniques. One day, years later, Raoh and his army were passing through a devastated village, when Baran saw a single young girl left alive. She was clearly traumatized by what had happened to her village, so he put his cloak on her and told her to snap out of it, or she would die. Raoh saw this and suddenly grabbed the girl, telling Baran to kill her now. Baran said he could not, so Raoh blasted him back and told him to get lose. If he couldn't reject compassion, he could never take his revenge against God. And as of that, Baran explains to Kenshiro, Raoh had abandoned him without the slightest bit of compassion. He simply cannot believe that Raoh is dead.



Grabbing Luseli, Baran says that he has now thrown away all of his compassion, and tells Satora to kill Kenshiro, or he will kill his girlfriend. Ryu then steps forward, saying that that is enough, and Baran can kill him instead of Luseli. Baran looks into Ryu's eyes, and realises that they have the same look as Raoh's. Kenshiro explains that Ryu is Raoh's son. Baran goes to strike him, but as he sees the tears in Ryu's eyes, he stops and says that it is over.
