The battle between Kenshiro and Raoh ended in a draw, but the amount of blood spilt in Mamiya's village was high. Lin and Bat are outside looking at all the bodies of the people who died in the battle between the villagers and the Fist King's forces.

She thinks of Kenshiro's bloody battle with Raoh, which ended in a stalemate.

Lin asks Bat why this had to happen, and why so much blood had to be shed. Bat says it can't be helped, and if it hadn't been for Ken and the others, they would have been the ones who would have shed blood. He wishes he was stronger, and had more power.

72 Hours to Live!
The Harbinger of Death Drags Rei In!!

Later on, Kenshiro and the others are resting in a room. Rei suddenly cries out, as his arm starts to bulge up. It looks like it's going to explode, but then suddenly returns to normal.

Rei looks at Mamiya, but then gets up and leaves. He tells them not to follow him, but Mamiya starts to go after him. Toki tells her not to -Rei has three days left to live -in that time, his body will gradually collapse. Mamiya recalls what Raoh said...

Raoh said that he had given Rei three days to live. Warriors who defy him... he won't kill such people immediately. The reason why is because if you kill too quickly, the fear will not spread. But those with three days to live will tremble in fear of death, and will suffer to the end. He says that that terror turns to legend, and the name of the Fist King carries all the more weight. He says that he has hit the shinkesshu pressure point, and that in three days, blood will erupt from all over Rei's dying body. In the meantime, Rei can taste the terror of death, that looms closer by the second.

Toki says he doesn't think Rei would want Mamiya to see him in such agony. Outside, Rei sits on a rock, and looks up at the moon. He thinks about Mamiya.

He suddenly cries out again, as the pressure point's effect continues. Kenshiro appears, and asks him if he can't move. Rei says that this must be the fear that Raoh was talking about. Kenshiro apologizes to him, as he feels he shouldn't have gotten him involved in all this.

Rei says he has no regrets, and says he's grateful. He'd hated the world, and his heart was full of rage. But then he met him, Lin, Bat, Mamiya... it made him realize that he shouldn't give up, not even in these chaotic times. He was able to become a human again. And now, all that matters is how he dies.

Nearby, Mamiya has been listening in. She decides to leave the village, and starts packing her bike with some food. Bat sees her, and asks where she's going. Mamiya says that she's going to take a little trip to Medicine City, a town where she may be able to get some medicine. Rei has three days left to live, and even if she can't save his life, then she at least wants to try something to lessen his pain and suffering. Right now, that's all she can do for him.

She starts up her bike, and leaves the village. As she rides on, she looks up at the Big Dipper, and hopes it'll guide her in saving Rei. Back in the village, Kenshiro and Rei return to the others. Kenshiro asks where Mamiya is.

Bat says she left, and went to Medicine City to try and get something for Rei. Toki is alarmed -Medicine City was a place that Raoh took over, and now that it's free of the Fist King's terror, he has no doubts that bandits will have taken it over again. Meanwhile, night turns to day, and Mamiya finally arrives at...

...Medicine City. She looks down and sees that there are plenty of people there. Suddenly a child called Ryu screams out, as he's being attacked by a dog.

Ryu's mother begs the other villagers to save her son, but they refuse, not wanting to do anything to the dog. The dog is about to bite Ryu, but is killed when a village bashes it ont he head with a club. The villager immediately seems to regret doing this.

Several men appear, and say he killed their sacred dog. They surround the village, and ask him if he knows what kind of trouble he's in. Suddenly a large collar is dropped over his head.

Galf, the new ruler of Medicine City, appears, and pulls the villager up. He tells the villager how dare he lay a hand on his precious dog. Ryu's mother tries to appeal to Lord Galf, telling him that the villager was just trying to save her child. She asks him to show mercy, so he decides to think it over: the life of a child, or the life of a dog? To him, any way you look at it, the dog's life is more important.

He calls Seki over, and asks him what he thinks: is this man innocent, or should he be executed? Seki barks once, and Galf takes that as a sign that the villager should be executed. He breaks the man's neck.

Galf declares that now the Fist King is gone, this city belongs to him. And in this city, the dogs are the law. Mamiya has seen everything, and wonders how can a dog can rule over the lives of humans. Back in Mamiya's village, Rei has decided to go to Medicine City. Airi asks him if he's alright, and he says he's fine. Lin is worried about what could happen to his body, but Rei says Mamiya went to the dangerous Medicine City alone for him. How can he not go after her? Bat says he'll go and tell Ken, but Rei tells him not to -this is his own business to settle.

Rei walks away from the village. Lin goes straight to Ken, who asks her what's wrong. Lin says that Rei told her not to tell him this, but he went to Medicine City, even with his condition.

Airi and Toki stand at the top of a building. Airi tells her brother that she's fine now, so from now one, he is to live for himself. He used to only live for her, and she hopes that God will grant him his wish, in the short life he has left... time passes by so coldly. Toki thinks about the fact that Mamiya has also seen the death omen star.

Mamiya enters a warehouse, but she doesn't find anything useful. She goes to the top of another building, and wonders where the medicine could be.

She looks down and sees another warehouse, and several villagers are being made to take supplies out of it. She realizes this is the warehouse she's looking for, and gets onto the roof of it. She looks down and sees there are only two guards, so she jumps down...

...and quickly takes both of them out. She heads inside the warehouse, and starts looking through the different medicines.

As she does, a dog sees her. The dog goes to attack, but she kills it with one of her yoyos. The dog's howling alerts some guards.

Galf then appears, and isn't happy about what Mamiya has done to his dear friend. What she's done is unforgivable, and he orders his men to capture her. One of the guards places his hands on her, and tells her to come with them. Mamiya responds by stabbing his hands with her spikes.

She leaps up onto the shelves and starts to run, but Galf throws a collar at her. It hits her in the back...

...and causes her to fall. Galf thinks she sure gave them some trouble.

Rei is walking through a desert, but then he suddenly feels a great pain in his chest, which causes him to fall. As he rolls over, he looks up into the sky...

...and realizes that he can now see the Big Dipper, and the death omen star, even in the afternoon. He thinks he has no time to waste, and gets up, only to fall down again. However, Kenshiro catches him before he hits the ground. Ken says they should go.

"You sure can't mind your own business, can you..."

Back in Medicine City, Mamiya is tied up to a post. Galf says he'll show her what happens when his precious dogs are harmed. Several vicious hounds are then released and encircle Mamiya, before jumping up and biting at her. Galf thinks Mamiya will make perfect dog food.

Mamiya looks up, and she can also see the death omen star in broad daylight. Elsewhere in the city, two of Galf's men are making a villager show respect to a dog by making him get down and bark like one. Kenshiro then arrives to spoil their fun.

He hits a pressure point on one guy's head, and asks him about Mamiya. Rei slices the other guy apart, so Kenshiro asks his victim what happened to Mamiya. The guy tells him that Lord Galf caught her, and she's going to be executed in the central plaza. It was because she laid hands on a dog! Kenshiro says it seems dog rank above humans in this city.

He strikes some other pressure points on the guy's head, and tells him that he can only walk like a dog now. The guy drops down and sees he can only crawl around. As he begs for help, Kenshiro and Rei walk on.
