Akashachi is dead and nothing can change that fact. The pirates see Kenshiro and the ship's doctor tries to find his heart beat...but he can't find it! It seems that Kenshiro is dead!

Shachi refuses to believe that and says that Ken hasn't gone cold, his body is still warm. There is no way that a man of his strength could have died. Later on in the morning, Shachi has decided to give his father a burial at sea and has his body placed in a small boat, which is then pushed out into the ocean.

The boat sets out as Akashachi's pirate ship starts to fire it's cannons in salute. With their Captain now at rest, the pirates asks Shachi if he'd be their new Captain, as they all quite like him and they'd like to continue to roam the sea. Shachi refuses though as he says he still has a lot to do here, and he intends to fight alongside Kenshiro as he had promised his father. The pirates believe that Kaioh is dead, but Shachi maintains that the land of Shura hasn't been saved yet.

Realising that they can't convince him the pirates tell Shachi to take care of himself and that they'll see him around. Shachi thanks them but before they can leave, they all notice something bubbling in the water and then with a large splash, Kaioh appears!

The pirates hand Kenshiro to Shachi and tell him and Leia to get out of here whilst they can. Shachi has no choice but to let them go up against Kaioh, so he gets Ken and tells Leia to follow him. Kaioh says that there is no going back for anyone who goes against him -a point brought across when he destroys their ship!

The pirates enter a desperate battle but none of them can even come close to Kaioh, who promises to slaughter them all without any mercy. Shachi sees the power geyser behind him, but tells Leia to keep running.

They arrive in a channel and Shachi believes they will be safe down here. They find some wood and tie it together to make a small raft. This is a quieter and faster method of transportation, but Leia says that this is the end of her journey and lets Shachi take Kenshiro. She thinks that she'll just get in the way, but tells Shachi to keep going and get Kenshiro to safety. She throws him the pendant he gave her years a go and says she'll see him again soon so he can give it back to her.

Shachi continues on and tells Ken to hang on as they don't have that far to go. But a little later on part of a wall explodes and out jumps Kaioh! He's tracked them down.

Kaioh refers to Shachi as a novice. Shachi can't outrun him now and gets himself and Kenshiro off the raft. Kaioh says that Shachi will die, and deaths of the benevolent are one of the things he hates the most. There will be no need for such things in his era. He sends out a projectile blast, but Shachi takes the hit to protect Kenshiro. Despite his injuries, he manages to stand up and goes into a combat stance. He tells Kaioh he will not let him kill Kenshiro.

Kaioh tells him he is a fool and says that for weaklings like him, he only needs his bare fists. He starts to pummel Shachi with a variety of strikes, but somehow Shachi still manages to remain standing. He still tells Kaioh that he will protect Ken even at the cost of his own life. Kaioh is impressed with his spirit...

...but both he and Kenshiro can go to hell, and he prepares to strike them down with a powerful blow. But before the attack can connect, Kaioh suddenly stops and realises that his demonic aura is disappearing! Kaioh becomes full of fear and as he looks up, he sees something behind Shachi.

Kenshiro is standing, his eyes glowing blue! Shachi wonders what he is looking at and turns around to see a spirit behind the now standing Kenshiro!

Shachi doesn't know what is going on, but Kaioh gets himself together and has a go at destroying it with a projectile blast. However, the spirit somehow deflects the blast and makes it go into the ceiling instead. Kaioh sees he doesn't have complete control over his matouki (demonic aura). He goes into a panic and he doesn't like whatever the illusion is behind Kenshiro.

He falls to the ground and starts to groan. The spirit vanishes and Shachi can't believe how easy Kaioh fell. He doesn't know what just happened, but he now has the chance to get out of here with Ken, so he simply walks past the fallen Kaioh and heads back onto the raft.

Kaioh's screams become quieter as Shachi lets out a big sigh of relief, he was lucky to get away with his life that time. He thinks about how he heard Hokuto Shinken's true power comes from extreme sadness or anger. It seems that even though Kenshiro's heart has stopped beating, he still fights on with his spirit! He's been waiting for Kenshiro to come to Shura all his life, and was the reason he stayed in the land. Shachi then sees daylight ahead and comes out of the channel.

Kaioh slowly recovers and realises he underestimated Hokuto Shinken, which is a more powerful style than he thought. He wonders if what Kenshiro just did was also the true power of Hokuto Soukei...if it is, then Hokuto Soukei must not be allowed to return no matter what!

Meanwhile, Shachi gets a cloak and has put Kenshiro in a coffin. He tells anyone who asks that he is just taking a corpse to a graveyard, but really he is slowly making his way to a small town he knows of that isn't that far away. As far as Shachi is concerned, his journey with Kenshiro has only just begun!
