Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite was released in 2017. The game takes things back to the 2 on 2 battles featured in earlier games in the series, along with the return of the infinity stones, which give your characters various extra abilities for limited amounts of time. For the first time, the game features a story mode, where you get to play as several different characters as events unfold.

Haggar returns, and is the only playable Final Fight character in the game. He's got all of his moves from last time, including stuff like his piledriver, pipe strike, lariat and more. His story is that he's the mayor of New Metro City (a merging of Marvel's New York and Final Fight's Metro City) but manages to get himself captured by the bad guys, to be turned into a bio weapon. He gets saved by Spider-Man, Chris Redfield and Frank West, and helps them out trying to take back one of the infinity stones. He later teams up with Frank to save Spider-Man.

New Metro City is also a stage featured in the game. It has some references to Final Fight, including a giant statue of Damnd, the first boss from the original game. Two P and J, two Mad Gear punks from the first game, can also be seen in the background.

This game was noted as having poor graphics when it was first revealed, and seemed to suffer from negativity ever since, even though the graphics were improved before release. Other criticisms include the cast, which doesn't include that many new characters, instead most of them have been from the previous game. A major problem was the absence of X-Men characters -the reason for this was because of issues with the X-Men licence and 20th Century Fox, but Capcom's bizarre reasoning left most fans fuming. These factors led to the game under-performing sales wise, and the game got discounted pretty quickly. Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite is available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
