Number of stages: 5 | |
This level is set at some kind of base. Magazine scans show a level like this in the original version, but the prototype is very messy and features a very strange enemy type. |
When this level starts, you'll see a fence. You can somersault jump to get over this and be on the opposite side. This is the only way to hit the bizarre, fat enemies who have extending arms. Strangely the fence effects the entire stage, and you can only collect items depending on which side you are on, no matter where you are. There are a bunch of items at the top of the stage, towards the start.
The fat enemies are the only hazards around this stage. The buildings don't work that well as you can fall through the floors by holding down and pressing the jump button. There is one part you are supposed to crouch to move through, but you can stand up and go through the ceiling.
Stage 2 takes place inside the base, and it is just a long corridor. There are some new enemies inside it though: tigers. They'll slowly walk towards you and then pounce, and are a pain to hit with shurikens. The stage will end when you run towards the end of the corridor.
The next stage takes place in another corridor, and there is another new enemy type: robots. These robots are very strong, and are armed with powerful guns. They will float around after you and take several shurikens to kill, so using a ninjitsu magic attack is a better idea.
The next stage is set in a large room. More of the fat enemies are here, and the room has a bridge on it. Near the end there is a room with no wall. Just jump to the right to finish the stage and move onto the boss.
The boss of this stage is a small green being. One of his animation frames shows him with his hands together in some kind of stance, perhaps he could summon projectiles? When you complete this round, the artwork at the clear screen will be the same as the previous one, but colored purple.
