This round takes place on a large aerial fortress. You will start out on the exterior of the fortress, and will have to make your way to the right by using the railings. The large engines you come across will blast powerful jets of flame every few seconds, but you can destroy them.
There are also some small vents which blast steam. If you get hit by this you will lose your grip to whatever you are holding and fall, but like the engines, the vents can be destroyed. Once you are far enough to the right you'll come across a door to head through.
There is an elevator platform in the next section, which will start to move up when you step on it. As the platform moves, you'll have to quickly take out several small moving turrets, which fire quickly and accurately at you. There are also small drone units with fly around wildly and take pot shots at you.
There can be as many of four turrets in one location, so throw shurikens quickly to try and take them out before they all get to fire. When the platform comes to a stop, use the wall jump to move up and head to the next section.
This part of the fortress contains several large cannons, which fire three large green shots before having to charge up for another attack. You can block or destroy these large projectiles with shuriken, but the cannons will take several hits to destroy.
There is also another smaller type of cannon here, but these can only aim in one direction, making their shots far easier to avoid. They take less hits than the larger cannons, which are the bigger danger in this section.
In addition to the cannons, there are several of those small drone units towards the end, along with some vents which blast steam, but the latter are easy to deal with. Move to the right and go through the open door to head inside the fortress.
There are no enemies inside the ship, but most of the floors and ceilings are protected by electrical hazards which will shock you if you touch them. You are going to have to make extensive use of the off-the-wall jump in this stage, to make several precise leaps to avoid being electrocuted.
There are several pillars with small shock fields on the tops of them, which you'll need to wall jump between to get across. When you come across a small moving platform, you will need to get on it as it will move on a track and take you through the room.
The platform will drop you off next to some pillars, which will fall down when you land on them. Use them to make your way across, but don't jump from them too soon as you'll hit the shock fields above you. After this there is a section where you have to quickly jump across to the right, using platforms and pillars which fall about a second after you land on them.
You'll then come across another moving platform, which you'll need to use to progress. But like the last one, there are several points where you cannot stand on the platform, and will have to either wall jump or make small jumps to keep up with or stay on it.
The platform will take you to a section where you'll need to grab onto the ceiling to move on, so do that and get to the door. In the next room, a wall will start to move. It will crush you if you take too long to get to the top, so start using it to wall jump upwards.
Be careful though as there are several small electric fields on the left wall, and you'll plummet if you touch them. Once you've made it to the top, break open the item boxes for a few extra shurikens, and then head to the right. The door there will explode open by itself.
In the next room, Shadow Master will appear. He is the game's final boss and after changing the background to his own liking, he'll start his attack. He is capable of throwing shurikens in bursts of three, with one being thrown low, one in the middle, and one high. Duck and block the low one, as the others shall miss.
If Shadow Master stops and goes into a stance for a second, he will most likely use his dash attack, where he quickly moves across the screen and swipes with his sword. Try somersault jumping over him to avoid this. If he's at the opposite end of the screen to you, and he starts throwing shuriken, duck and throw some back at him. His will miss, whilst yours will hit.
After he's taken enough hits, he'll be surrounded by a column of energy. His attacks will then change quite a bit, as he'll start using green fireballs. He can release several of these at a time, but they can be blocked.
He'll also start using a dive kick, just run out of the way to avoid it. Another new technique he gains from his power-up is a larger green projectile, which can explode shortly after being released and will send forward a lot of fire. You'll need to jump over this to avoid being hit by it.
Sometimes Shadow Master will rise up into the top left or right sides of the screen, and release a barrage of fireballs everywhere. You can try and block them but they generally aren't too difficult to avoid. Keep throwing shuriken and using the dive kick to land in hits.
Shadow Master also has one final extra move he'll sometimes use, especially when you try and jump over him. It is a rising uppercut where he jumps up and uses a powerful punch to try and knock you out of the air. Keep attacking and eventually both Shadow Master and his aerial fortress will explode.
