Zangief

Zangief has got all of his old moves, plus a couple of brand new special throw moves. A number of his standard throws have also been changed, and he now also has air throws.

Special moves

SPINNING CLOTHESLINE
(Press all 3 punch buttons together)

Spinning with one of his arms outstretched, Zangief attempts to smash the opponent down. Hold left or right to move him about as he does this move.


TURBO SPINNING CLOTHESLINE
(Press all 3 kick buttons together)

A faster version of the above move.


SPINNING PILE-DRIVER
(360°+P)

You must be close to the opponent for this move to work. Zangief will pick them up, jump upwards and then come back down to the ground pile-driving the opponent causing a large amount of damage.


SIBERIAN SUPLEX
(360°+K)

This new grab move only works when Zangief is close to his opponent.


SIBERIAN BEAR CRUSHER
(360°+K)

This move only works when Zangief is away from his opponent. When you do the motion Zangief will run forward and try to grab the opponent, and if he is successful, he slams them into the ground. Naturally though he's left wide open to attack when he makes his dash.


Throws

STRONG PUNCH

Zangief pile drives the opponent.


CROUCHING STRONG & FIERCE PUNCH

Zangief starts squeezing his opponent's stomach, keep mashing the buttons to do more hits and damage.


FIERCE PUNCH

Zangief will keep squeezing the opponent's face, keep mashing the buttons to do more hits and damage.


FORWARD KICK

Zangief picks up his opponent and back drops them.


ROUNDHOUSE KICK

Zangief grabs his opponents and starts biting them, keep mashing the buttons to do more hits and damage.


AIR STRONG & FIERCE PUNCH

Zangief has an air throw. He can grab jumping opponents and throw them to the floor.


AIR FORWARD & ROUNDHOUSE KICK

Zangief has another air throw where he tosses the opponent over his head.


Changes

MISSED 360° MOVES

If you miss the opponent with moves like the spinning pile-driver, Zangief now crosses his arms as he fails to grab the opponent. This means you need to be much more careful when trying to throw the opponent as they have a much better opportunity to counter attack if you miss.
