Different titles. The Japanese version also has the Jaleco logo on the title screen.

If you leave the game at the title screen, an intro sequence will start to play, which includes a scene of Norton being held at gun point. This intro was removed from the American version.

The Japanese version options screen lets you pick the difficulty, number of lives and continues, all of this was taken out of Rival Turf. Rival Turf also lets you mess around with the L and R button settings, whilst Rushing Beat doesn't.

Rick Norton became Jack Flak. Douglas Bild became Oozie Nelson, and also has a skin color change for the American version.

Most of the enemies have different names between versions.

When you die, your character's portrait flashes with his picture and kanji in the Japanese version. In the American version, the kanji was replaced with just an X. The kanji means "Death" -thanks to jonny2x4 for this info.

NOTES

-When you pause the game in the American version, the screen darkens. This doesn't happen in the Japanese version.
