The American version changes key config to button config, adds a screen settings option and also has some more info about how to enter and exit options at the bottom.

The character select menu has a red "player select" text and timer, this was changed to the color blue for the American release. The Japanese version also has red English text with white kanji for character names. The American version has white English text for character names.

After beating the game, the Japanese version has a short text ending for each character. These were not translated for the American version, and instead replaced with a generic "congratulations" message.
