The different game modes have different names between versions. |

The American version still has a censored intro and FMV sequences -despite the fact that Director's Cut was advertised as being uncensored. Capcom gave some most likely fake excuse about it being an error and let people download the uncensored intro at their site. The link for that is long gone, but a quick youtube search lets you see the real thing. |

The game also came with a separate disc which featured a demo of the sequel. The Japanese version has an "information" option which was removed from the American version. Selecting this brings you to another screen which features a video of Breath of Fire III and a playable demo of Rockman Neo (which would later be renamed Rockman Dash). |

Part of the police station's second floor is different between versions. The corridor leading to the statues is has a door in a different place. You come across it sooner in the American version, and the camera angle is different. |

In the Japanese version, the door was further back, and very close to the statue puzzle. The American version had this door moved back, where it would remain for the final game. This door cannot be opened in any version. |
NOTES
-All of the changes made to the original version of Resident Evil -such as less ink ribbons -also apply to this version.
