Two torches were added next to Zelda in the American version. And if you look closely, you can see the Japanese Link has no visible mouth, but the English one does!

The game over screen has a black background in the Japanese version. The American version changes the color to red, adds a silhouette of Ganon (his only appearance in the entire game) and rearranges the text.
