The menus are the same between the regions; the only difference is that the Japanese version has subtitles of the appropriate language so they can understand it. The background is changed to remove any English that isn't "Smash Bros" or company names and throws in "Super" above each usage of Smash.

The European version has language options for French and German as an addition to the Options menu. It's kind of crap looking. But you can at least listen to the new announcers say "Pikachu" in different languages.

Donkey Kong was originally D.Kong, but now he's DK. The character Purin is known as Jigglypuff in the U.S. The German version expands C.Falcon into Cap.Falcon. Strangely, despite recording new announcements for every other character, Captain Falcon still has the English announcement. Jigglypuff is known as Pummeluff in Germany and Rondoudou in France.

NOTES

-"Hurry To The Battlefield" became "Race To The Finish", and for good reason because I can hardly tell what the Japanese announcement is saying.

-Fighting polygon team were originally dummy combo, though the announcer pronounces it like dummy core.

-Attack sounds were changed; the basic hitting sound in Japan is more of a 'thud', while the English version makes it more cartoony and louder. The beam sword was changed to sound less like a lightsaber.
