In Japan this game is called Hokuto no Ken, based on a popular manga and anime series. But the series was barely known outside Japan at the time. SEGA of American decided to release it anyway, but changed the name to Last Battle. |

Almost every sprite in the game has different colours depending on the region. |

Enemies will explode in the Japanese version -their heads explode followed by their bodies. The American version changes it so enemies just fly off the screen. |

All of the character names were changed. In the Japanese version, the main character is Kenshiro. He was renamed Aarzak for the American version, and the hair style shown in his portrait was also changed. The other guy with him above is called Bat in the Japanese version and Max in the American version. |

Boss characters also had color changes. Many of them still explode but the explosion sprites again have different colors -this boss above has a red explosion in Hokuto no Ken and a yellow one in Last Battle. |

The girl above is called Lin in the Japanese version. The American version renamed her Alyssa. Believe it or not, the dialogue for Last Battle was a fairly accurate translation of Hokuto no Ken expect for names of people, places and fighting styles. |

More boss color changes. I think the American version tried to make them look like mutants. |

This character is called Ein in the Japanese version. His name was changed to Gere for the American version. There are many more graphical differences to this game but since I don't enjoy playing it at all I'm going to have to stop here. |
