The European version was renamed "The New Generation" due to the German censors not wanting "Blood" in the title (Germany used to ruin everything for Europe). The American. and Japanese versions have blood dripping from their logos, a feature not present in the European version. Finally, the European version changes the background from red to blue.

NOTES

-After beating each level, the American and European versions have password screens, showing you a password. These password screens do not appear in the Japanese version. To get your password, you have to get a game over and quit rather than continuing.
