The Japanese version of this game featured a network play option. This was cut from the European version. The background image for the mode select menu is also slightly different, with one of the main differences being that one of the cars to the right was changed between versions. There is also a difference with the music used at the mode select menu, as in Japan, it has lyrics. The European version uses an instrumental only version "Go! Go! Sega Rally". |

As mentioned above, the available cars are different depending on the region. At the car select menu, the default car is the Ford Escort WRC in the Japanese version. This car was cut from the European version, with the default car being the Peugeot 206 WRC. The Peugeot 206 WRC isn't available in the Japanese version. The layout of cars is also different depending on the region. |

This car was altered between versions. In Japan, it's called the Lancer Evolution V and has a white and red paint job. For Europe, the "V" was removed and the car model was given a new red paint job. It is possible to get the white and red paint job in the European version by holding down the L trigger before selecting the car. |
