The Japanese version has two additional settings you can pick after selecting a character: Auto and Auto & Turbo. These Auto modes will block attacks automatically. In the American version, these two options are missing and have to be turned back on in the operator menu.

Also on the same stage, there is a well to the right. The blood color on this well is different between versions also.

NOTES

-This game is known as "Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire" all over the world. For reasons unknown Capcom of America did not translate the title. Hackers have found an unused title screen in the game which has the title of "Darkstalkers: Jedah's Damnation". In an old issue of Computer & Video Games magazine I have, there was a report on this game and it mentioned how the American version was going to use this name, but this didn't happen.

-The American version's marquee has the title of "Vampire Savior: World of Darkness". The "World of Darkness" subtitle is not used anywhere in the game itself.

-The Playstation version of the game was called Darkstalkers 3 in America and Europe.
