If you lose a match in the single player mode, the continue screen has some advice and tips to improve your game in the Japanese version. None of these were translated for American version.

If you play as Gouki (Akuma in the American version), he has win quotes. But in the American version, Akuma has no win quotes.

Japanese

The Japanese version has some exclusive text if you get Gouki to challenge you. After he kills Vega, some black borders appear at the top and bottom and the kanji is displayed (he basically introduces himself as "the master of the fist". This text was never translated for the American version.

NOTES

-Akuma/Gouki isn't actually named in any version of the game at all. He will be in the next title, though.

-In the Japanese version, Gouki's endings have dialogue. This dialogue was not translated for the American version.
