BlazBlue (Xbox 360, PS3 & PSP)
Watching some fighting game tournaments reminded me of BlazBlue, and the fact that I have some of the games but never really played them much. Something I fixed this month by playing them a lot. I started with Calamity Trigger for the 360 and have played through a few of the story mode paths -the amount of content in them is really good and other fighting games need to take notice. I haven't done much in the PSP version of Calamity Trigger other than play through Ragna's story mode. I also tried the sequel, Continuum Shift, for the PS3, and have beaten the arcade mode with several characters. Online wise I've had a few fights and have won more than I've lost, but I don't think myself to be any good at the game and have been completely destroyed a couple of times. The netcode is the best I've experienced out of all the online fighting games I have, and I'm looking forward to playing more of this series next month.
Super Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360 & PS3)
I tried playing the PS3 version online and is was borderline unplayable -even games with green bar connections were running badly, and I gave up after a few matches. The 360 version seems much more stable online wise, although the netcode for this game is still poor. Anyway, I now have the Arcade Edition update for the 360 and briefly played online on my new account. The characters I've mainly used are Ryu, Ken and T. Hawk. I also beat the arcade mode with Evil Ryu.
Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360)
I have all of the achievements in versus mode now, so as far as I'm concerned, versus mode no longer exists on my copy of the game, I hate it that much. Just like last month I ran into a bunch of jerks rage quitting and sending me hate mail but I forgot to take down their names and comments so just a word of advice to anyone thinking of getting this game: stay as far away from the versus mode as possible at all times.
On a brighter note, me and Ragey have been playing through this and we practically beat the entire game together on the normal difficulty. I unlocked the infinite ammo rocket launcher. For now though I'm done with this game and won't be playing it again until late this year at the earliest.
Sonic the Hedgehog (Xbox 360)
Beaten on my new account. Not much to say here, I've beaten this game so many times. The only achievements I didn't get were the ones for beating it in under 40 minutes and clearing the first level in under 35 seconds.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)
I finally beat the campaign on my new account, it took me long enough. Of course I was on the easiest difficulty, which pretty much means you can beat this game without firing bullets most of the time. In the Special Ops mode, I've cleared about half of it. Special thanks to my friend Matt for helping out, as doing these missions in 2 players makes it a lot easier.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Xbox 360)
I haven't played this in single player yet, but me and Ragey have raced against each other in the 2 player mode. We both agree that it kicks ass. Video here if anyone cares, and probably more to come over the coming months/years now that the NAT problem I had has been fixed.
Streets of Rage II (PS3)
So to try and make up for the fact that their network got hacked, Sony gave every member a month's subscription to their Playstation Plus service. This just translates as discounts on some games, but some stuff is also free like Streets of Rage II. I played through it and got all the trophies, which are exactly the same as the achievements from the Xbox 360 version. The battle mode in this is great, because I'm good at it -I haven't lost a battle yet. Bad games to the following rage quitters: Silver-Thunder12, J-Strap, thealexman and SupremeWizard.
Oh, and this version of the game is weird. In the single player mode, the game is very choppy, but in multi-player (online at least, don't know about offline) it runs smooth. WTF? Are you telling me the PS3 isn't capable of properly emulating a 19 year old Genesis game? Not enough blast processing? And best yet, if your subscription to this Playstation Plus thing runs out, you lose any free games you got for it. So I imagine Streets of Rage II will be off my PS3 this time next month. Blegh.
