Super Street Fighter IV (PS3)

I played some more online matches with this, the netcode seems to have improved a little compared to last month, but my main achievement was getting the "tenpeat" trophy (win 10 ranked games in a row) with Dan, of all characters. Video proof here if anyone cares.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)

I'm up to the boss battle against some Psycho Mantis rip off. Whilst the actual gameplay is good, with a great mix of shooting and hiding, the cutscenes and story are so bad I've just started laughing at most of the cutscenes and some of the plot points and funny too. I didn't think an MGS game could get any more ridiculous after playing the third one, but this has some even more bizarre things in it. Highlights so far include Raiden stopping a massive submarine crashing into Snake by himself, a boss who snipes at you whilst running around inside a giant robo-panther thing, this shit, the way those small robots walk and Snake being launched catapult style to Ocelot's sub. Like I said, the actual gameplay is fine (I enjoyed finally getting to use a Metal Gear in battle) but the cutscenes are a laugh a minute.

Halo Reach (Xbox 360)

I beat the game on normal. I heard that beating it on legendary was meant to be really tough and that this is the hardest game in the series, but I didn't think that could be true and I was right. For most of the time in single player, you are usually with at least one completely invulnerable A.I. character who can do a lot of the fighting for you. Or there are several fights you can just avoid all together. There were still some frustrating parts, but I got up to the very end (where you have to shoot down that ship with the cannon) within about three days. It isn't that difficult.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (PS3)

Just started. I've beaten the game a few times, but much more of my time has been spent in the online mode. My first team consisted of Akuma, Sentinel and Deadpool but I'm trying out different characters as I'm not that good with Deadpool. Dr. Doom is a likely candidate to take his place. I'm also working on being able to pull off team air combos consistently, because they let you build lots of hyper combo gauge really quickly if you do them right. Bad games to XxEterniusxX and frafo321 -both rage quitters.

King of Fighters '99 (Playstation)

I beat the game with the Fatal Fury team (Terry, Andy, Joe and Mai). Nothing really went wrong until I got to Krizalid, the boss of the game, which went abysmally wrong. He has two forms, usually I can take down his first form no problem but he kicked my ass all over. I kept getting hit by his purple fireball move and he took out Joe and Andy pretty quickly. I used Terry to finally beat him and I thought I had no chance at beating his second form, but I surprised myself when I did it. All I had to do was throw out a power wave, wait for Krizalid to either block or attempt to dodge it, then use the full screen burn knuckle move and he'd get hit by that. I just repeated that process and won, so it was a one credit clear.

King of Fighters 2001 (Neo Geo)

This is what happens whenever I play this game: I get through all of the CPU opponents with ease, then I get to the bosses who destroy me in seconds. I actually managed to beat Original Zero without using a continue (I did have to win by time over though) but then I got to Igniz. He is the single reason why this game will remain the only KoF title I have failed to one credit clear. I had to use cheats to one credit this, I'd like to say I'd be able to one day do it without infinite health and supers, but I doubt that will ever happen. I used the Art of Fighting team when I played this.

Metal Slug X (Neo Geo)

Me and a friend beat the game. I used 11 credits, he used 22 but he hasn't had much experience with this series before. One part I don't think I've ever managed to clear without getting killed at least once is that part in the fifth level where you have to shoot the trains coming at you, we were both mashing the fire buttons like crazy but we still both died a couple of times at that part. I can't remember my exact final score -I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't saved to the memory card -but it was definitely over 2 and a half million. Is it also a bad thing that I have to admit that I only found out where the genie is on this playthrough, despite owning several other versions of the game for several years?
