Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360)
I've been playing this online and it has been fairly good, although I have a few things to moan about. First off, the multi-player is level based and the higher up you go rank wise the better weapons you can get. The huge flaw here is that as the game has been out for almost two years there are many highly ranked players who will kick your ass if you are new. There are at least easy ways to level up (the challenges were a great idea) but I don't really like this kind of set-up. Next, to unlock radar in a game you have to get three kills in a row and it only last for 30 seconds. I don't like this either, you should either have radar or no radar, not both. I also just hate it when I die from a grenade randomly thrown from miles away but it happens. But by far the worst problem with this game is the abysmal respawn points -a really common event is that I check a room for enemies, find none so I leave the room, then I get killed by an enemy who just spawned in there. Not good.
My favourite modes for this are team deathmatch and search and destroy. I'm currently level 23.
LEGO Star Wars II (Xbox 360)
I can safely say that this is almost guaranteed a place on 2009's shame of the year awards. I've beaten it and it's been the worst thing I've played all year. Boring levels, no challenge, stupid amount of garbage to collect, glitches (including such classics as the game freezing at the end of the last level and having to end a stage just because my character got stuck) and appalling vehicle sections. Why people like the LEGO games is something I cannot explain.
Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
Every Halo game is over-rated but overall I'd say this is the best one of the three, it had a few nice ideas like the bubble shields and the campaign mode wasn't as boring as the first game. Anyway single player wise I beat the game on heroic difficulty. I've played it online too and it's OK but nothing special. I hate the fact that you cannot choose which game variant to search for so you might get stuck in a game you hate (such as snipers only, or swords only) and whoever thought it was a good idea to make it so you can only invite friends or people you've played recently for online co-op rather than make a lobby needs firing from Bungie pronto.
Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (DS)
Just started. I've beaten a few bosses, saved some of the townsfolk and gotten the double jump item. I've read that this is more difficult than the previous two DS Castlevania games but those claims haven't held up yet. I've just beaten a boss called Goliath who kind of looks like Raoh from Fist of the North Star, he even had a Hyakuretsu Ken style move and when I killed him he raised his fist towards the heavens, which is exactly what Raoh did when he died. See here.
