These preview images are from issue 64 of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Here is an early version of the character select screen. Differences in the preview include: -Different select portraits for Akira and Shun. -Akira and Shun's names aren't in italics. -Pai has a different icon, what would be her alt outfit in the final version was originally her default outfit. -Some of the background colors in the character icons are different, in the final they are all light blue. -The VS text is thicker. -The timer is under the VS text, in the final it was moved to the top right corner and is in a different font.

Sarah's stage had a different background in the preview, featuring a sunset skyline. For the final version the background was changed to a night time setting.
