Debug menu

To bring up the debug menu, press the select button on player one's controller. Most of the features of the menu can't be selected, however the jump function does work. You can select an area of the game by pressing triangle, then cycle through the backgrounds by pressing left and right. Pressing square will take you to the currently selected background, and pressing x will close the debug menu.

The debug menu can be activated during cutscenes (excluding FMVs), and also features a working timer that keeps track of how long you've been playing the game.

Spawn items

Press start, then highlight an item space in the inventory, then hold down select for about a second. Then press L1 or R1 to cycle through any item in the game. You can spawn weapons and items you can't usually get in the prototype (such as the flamethrower and magnum parts), and also find a few things that were cut from the game. Some items that are exclusive to Claire, such as the grenade launcher, can't be spawned -it'll crash the game if you try. There are also many garbage items that'll crash the game if you try to do anything with them.

You can increase the quantity of some items by pressing the triangle button -so for example, if you highlighted the shotgun and pressing triangle, the ammo count will increase from 10 to 11.

Pressing circle on player 2's controller will turn on infinite ammo for any weapon. The words "WEAPON MUGEN" will appear on screen in the inventory menu when this cheat is turned on.

Pressing select on player 2's controller will create a double item slot -useful if you want to get the gatling gun or custom shotgun to look right in the inventory, although not required to equip them.

Other cheats

Pressing L1 on player 2's controller toggles having the music on or off. If you turn it back on, it doesn't seem to start playing again until you enter the next room.

Pressing R1 on player 2's controller toggles a "no death" option. If this is on, Leon won't take any damage.

Pressing L2 on player 2's controller will freeze everything on screen. Press the button again to unfreeze.
