11C: Omake Okujyou

An extra version of this background which contains a 3D model of a helicopter. It's likely this background is reserved for the 4th survivor game mode, which has a helicopter pick Hunk up at the end of it. You can't do much here as Leon seems to be stuck in the helicopter, but if you press circle, you'll leave this area. The 4th survivor is not available to play in the prototype, as far as I can tell.




11D: Roji Bak

This is the version of the back alleys that were featured in the Resident Evil 2 Preview. The main difference here is that there is no van blocking off one of the alleys, there's a dumpster there instead which you can climb over.




40C: Dust Syuut

Unused in the prototype, but this area is used in the final for when you play as Sherry in Claire's A scenario. The prototype is missing the floor doors, trash and wolf medal. If you go back through the vent, it leads to the "Tuufuukou" area seen below.

40F: Tuufuukou

These are the backgrounds that are used in the final during part of Claire's A scenario -it's the tunnel Sherry has to run through, and is full of flying cockroaches. As you can't play as Claire in the prototype, this goes unused. If you get to the end of this and go through the vent, it leads to the "Dust Syuut" seen above.




60F: G Kapuseru

This is the room that you can only access in the B scenario via having Leon and Claire use the fingerprint ID scan. Because Claire isn't playable in the prototype, it goes unused. It contains shotgun ammo and a first aid spray in it, which the final version does not have.

The dead soldier will have either the side pack or machine gun on him in the prototype -it depends on which item you took earlier on from the weapons locker room. In the final, he'll have the machine gun or some M.G. bullets on him.

If you go to this room in the prototype's A scenario, there are no enemies in it. But if you go to it during the B scenario, there are some zombies. In the final, there are some evolved lickers in this room.

Unused Items

Quick note: all of the items exclusive to Claire can be spawned in the inventory in the prototype, but I'm not going to cover them here because almost everything matches up with the final version.

Chemical AC-W24

If this is combined with the standard grenade rounds, it creates flame rounds. This item was meant for Claire's scenarios, but was cut.

Chemical FR-W09

If this is combined with the standard grenade rounds, it creates acid rounds. This item was meant for Claire's scenarios, but was cut. Both chemicals are still in the final version of the game, but go unused.

Firestarter

This item is never seen anywhere in the prototype, and was cut from the final version. My guess is that perhaps originally, Claire wouldn't get to use a lighter, she'd use this instead?

Flamethrower fuel

You never even find the flamethrower in the prototype, and the fuel for it goes unused too. It's still in the final version, but also goes unused there.

M.G. Bullets

Ammo for the machinegun. This can be found and used in the final version, but only under specific circumstances.

Magnum parts

Used in the final, but unused in the prototype as the place where you are supposed to get these contains magnum ammo instead. If you combine this with the regular magnum, it'll create the C. Magnum, which is fully working (see below).

Sparkshot ammo

This would have been used in Claire's scenario, as only she can use the sparkshot. It goes unused in the prototype, and whilst it's still in the final version of the game, it's also unused there.




Unused Weapons

Another note: all of the weapons exclusive to Claire can be spawned in the inventory in the prototype, but there's not much point covering them because their inventory pictures all match up with the final game, and trying to equip Leon with any of them will result in the game crashing when you exit the inventory screen -it appears that their model data isn't in the prototype.



C. Magnum

The upgraded magnum cannot be obtained the usual way in the prototype, as the place where the magnum parts are contains magnum ammo. You can either spawn the C. Magnum, or spawn the magnum parts and upgrade the regular magnum to obtain it. The weapon is fully working.



Calico M950

A handgun which has infinite ammunition by default. It makes no sound when firing. This gun is in the final version of the game, but also goes unused there.



Flamethrower

This goes unused in the prototype, the place where you get it in the final contains shotgun ammo instead. The flamethrower seems to be glitched in the prototype, you can only fire it for a few seconds no matter how much ammo is in it. Leon will then reload it (using an animation cut from the final game), but the ammo count doesn't go up. In the final version, it's not possible to reload the flamethrower at all.



H&K MC51

An unused weapon which was possibly an early version of the machine gun. Whilst you can equip it, the prototype will crash as soon as you exit the inventory screen, as there is no model data for this weapon. It is not compatible with the M.G. bullets.

It's possible this is the gun Claire is seen using in this 1997 E3 trailer for the game.



Gatling Gun

In the final, you can obtain the gatling gun by beating the B scenario with the best rank. It is fully functional in the prototype, you just can't obtain it via normal means as you can't finish the game.
