There's a prototype of this game available on most ROM sites. It seems to be very close to the final version, with few differences. One strange thing is that the Japanese-speaking characters don't have their voice clips for their special and super moves, they instead use generic grunts. There are some minor exceptions to this, such as Ryo still shouting his "ora ora ora" for one of his super moves. English-speaking characters, like Terry, still have all of their voice clips. This is typical of a Korean version of a Neo Geo game so I'm not sure what the deal is with this prototype.

The ROM also seems to only let you play the American version, trying to set your emulator to the Japanese setting still gives you English text only.

The TM graphic is different, just being plain white in the prototype. The final changed the letters and put a small blue background behind them.

In the prototype, K' is missing the ' in his name -this was corrected for the final version.

Joe's default color in the prototype is wrong, he has his alt color by mistake. This was fixed for the final version.

The HUD has some minor differences.

-The font for the character names has different shading.

-The super move gauge uses the number 0 instead of the POW graphic.

-The striker portrait boxes are slightly larger in the prototype than they are in the final.

Whilst the Kyo clones have their numbers at the character select and versus screens in the prototype, they don't have them under their life bars, or if they are a striker. If you have either of the clones as a striker, their portraits are missing in the prototype. All of these things were fixed for the final version.

Some of the messages that appear on screen have glitched colors in the prototype, such as the "COUNTER!!" text. Fixed for the final.

The combo counter has glitched colors in the prototype, again, this was fixed for the final.

The other difference here is Bao's striker portrait -it was changed for the final version. His is the only one that was completely changed in the final version, but a few others had some very small edits, with a few pixels altered:
