Is that Terry Bogard? Yes it is, and if you want the easiest character to beat the game with, look no further than Terry.

A projectile which travels across the ground. You won't need to use this much, but it can be used to bait the opponent into switching planes. |
Terry charges forward with his fist covered in energy. |
The move you absolutely need to master, as it's a key part of the infinite combo. |
Terry hits the opponent up, then down. Not particularly useful unless you can finish the opponent off with it. |
DESPERATION MOVE POWER GEYSER QCB, HCF+C&D |

Terry makes a column of energy right in front of him. Not much use against the CPU as they tend to always dodge it. But if they're dizzied, always try and use it on them. |
What I'm about to write may put some of you off, but it has to be said. In order to beat this game with Terry, you're going to have to learn how to do an infinite. That's right, you're going to have to master an
INFINITE COMBO
Still reading? Well don't worry, if you want to learn how to do an infinite but think this is too complicated, Terry's is much easier to do. I don't know who found this infinite first, but I'm going to presume it was found by a Japanese player on day 1, with SNK's staff looking on in absolute horror as they realized it was too late for them to do anything about it.
Terry's infinite consists of just two moves: the strong kick version of the crack shoot, crouching strong punch, repeat. Or you can start it with crouching strong punch, crack shoot, repeat. It doesn't matter which move you start it with, either will work. The entire 1CC run will mostly come down to using this infinite combo. After the opponent gets hit enough times, it'll dizzy them, at which point you can just start the infinite up again to finish them off. If your health is in the red and you've got the opponent dizzied, always try and finish them off with a power geyser, you can better ranks that way.
IMPORTANT!
Terry has two different crouching strong punches. If you hold down back and then press strong punch, he does a two hit uppercut. You don't want this, you want his other strong punch, which is done by holding down or down forward and then pressing strong punch. For best results with the infinite combo, don't use the uppercut!
If the opponent has little health left after getting dizzied, try either of these extremely easy combos:
Get close to the opponent and press the strong punch button. This is a two hit attack, so as Terry does this punch, do the motion for the burn knuckle (QCB+A or C) or the power dunk (F, D, DF+B or D). These are all the combos you need to beat this game, and even then, you only really need the infinite combo.
DEFEATING THE CPU

For the vast majority of opponents, the tactic is the same thing for everybody: use the infinite combo! Start with the crack shoot and then see what happens. If the opponent blocks, keep going with the infinite -the opponent may continue to block, but they will eventually stop and will get hit by it. Spacing can be important, as some opponents will stop Terry's crack shoot -Franco, for example, will counter it with a strong kick if you try to do the move at close to full screen. In which case, try starting it off with the crouching strong punch instead.
SOKAKU
The infinite will work on Sokaku, but there is an alternate strategy which is just as effective. As soon as the round starts, back dash and do the light punch version of the power wave. What usually happens is that Sokaku will change planes, dash towards you, then change planes again. As he does this, you need to be doing the strong punch version of the burn knuckle. This move will hit Sokaku as he changes back planes and knock him down, at which point you need to back dash and then repeat the strat. Sometimes, he may just jump over the power wave, but you can hit him with the burn knuckle as he lands. Other times he may just let himself get hit by the power wave, but if you do the burn knuckle he'll get hit by that too for an easy full screen two hit combo.
TERRY
CPU Terry has an annoying habit of stopping your crack shoot, usually by using his crouching strong kick. You can keep trying to do the infinite, but there is another exploit you can use against CPU Terry. Like Sokaku, if you use a light punch power wave, it may cause CPU Terry to switch planes, dash towards you, then switch back. What you want to do here is hit him with a crouching strong punch as he switches back, then get the infinite combo going.
CPU Terry may also react to your power wave differently. If he just stands there, he's most likely going to do a neutral jump to avoid it. If he starts to jump, do a strong punch burn knuckle to hit him out of the air before he lands. If Terry jumps over your power wave, try and hit him with a strong kick as he lands. Alternatively, CPU Terry will often just stand there as he lands from his jump, trying doing a strong punch burn knuckle as he lands as he should get hit by it. He may also just block it, so just do another power wave again.
GEESE
The thing to be wary of with Geese is that he will often try to counter your crack shoot with a double reppu ken. Depending on the distance, the crack shoot may fly over the projectile and hit Geese. But usually, the projectile is going to hit Terry. There is also a chance Geese will use one of his counters to stop the crack shoot. The infinite combo is still the best way to take him down though, so keep trying.
YAMAZAKI
The infinite works on Yamazaki, but you have to be careful with getting it started up. If you try and do a crack shoot at long range, he's almost definitely going to counter it with his snake tamer move. Another thing he likes to do is his counter move, if he gets hit whilst doing this he'll take no damage and do a counter strike. You may be able to block this counter strike. Go for the infinite, but try starting it with a mid or close range crack shoot.
CHONSHU
It is very difficult to get the infinite working against Chonshu -his small size causes issues, but he also tends to block everything, or counter. It can be done, but he has multiple ways to stop the crack shoot, such as using his projectile. An alternate strategy is to head to either corner of the stage, then wait. He will eventually make his way towards you, once he's around jumping distance away, jump backwards. What he'll hopefully do is jump towards you, at which point you need to press the strong kick button to hit him whilst you're still in the air. He may not always jump -sometimes he'll try and use his projectile, but if he's close enough you can still hit him with a jumping strong kick and then immediately do a crouching strong kick for a two hit combo.
A riskier strat is to try and get away from Chonshu, then throw out a light punch power wave. Then do a strong punch burn knuckle. What can happen is, Chonshu will stop the power wave with his own projectile, but then get hit by the burn knuckle. However, what can also happen is he'll block the burn knuckle and throw you. Only go for this strat if you've got a good life lead on him.
CHONREI
Like his brother, it is possible to get the infinite on Chonrei, but it's extremely difficult as he has multiple ways to counter the crack shoot. He does fall for the same corner strategy though -if you backup and then wait for him to approach, you need to jump back and do a jumping strong kick. If he jumps towards you, your kick should hit him and knock him down. If he doesn't jump, he may try to use his projectile but will get hit by the kick, try immediately doing a crouching strong kick to knock him down. The problem with Chonrei is he's much faster than his brother and tends to spam his projectile a lot more. If he's a fair distance away from you, try doing a light punch power wave.
Sometimes, Chonrei will just stand there and block the power wave. As he's blocking, try doing a strong punch burn knuckle. What he'll hopefully do is get hit by this, sometimes he'll just stand there and get hit, other times he may even dash straight into it. However, he may block it and then throw you. He may also deal with the power wave by using his counter move -he has a move which reflects projectiles away from him. Only try this strat if you've got a good life lead over him. If not, it's better to get back to the corner and try the jump kicks again.
YOU CAN DO IT!
